These Healthier Grilled Lean Turkey Burgers with ginger are a flavorful and nutritious twist on classic burgers. The addition of fresh ginger adds a zesty kick, while the lean ground turkey keeps them light and healthy. Perfect for a summer BBQ or a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients: 1 lb lean ground turkey. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs whole wheat or gluten-free. 1 egg. 1 teaspoon soy sauce low sodium. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin. 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander. 4 whole wheat burger buns. Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices for toppings.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine lean ground turkey, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, grated fresh ginger, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, black pepper, salt, ground cumin, and ground coriander. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking. Place the turkey burger patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks. Make sure the internal temperature reaches 165F 74C. While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill until they are slightly crispy and golden. Assemble your burgers by placing a turkey patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Add any additional condiments or toppings of your choice. Place the top half of the buns over the toppings to complete your turkey burgers. Serve your healthier grilled lean turkey burgers with ginger hot off the grill, and enjoy!
