VANIDA
before the town stomped on her hopes & dreams, vanida’s dream job isn’t actually like fame or power - she always wanted to be a botanist!! she loves flowers and nature a lot!!! she really loved running her stall ( even if it didn’t make much money all the time ) but oh well! dreams are dreams
i was gonna explain it in the future with some art, but vanida’s demon tf wasn’t really a traditional, canonical one - cause hers, i wanted to lean more towards distortion & uncanny! its why her power leaned more towards glamour, and why she is so popular, because people would perceive the qualities they find most desirable in “her”. the idea that almost no one would have an accurate description of how she actually looked & sounded like because everyone would see something different. ( and also the fact her image would be distorted in mirrors, cameras, the dark, etc. very much horror-y aspects )
i feel like some might have gotten the general idea from an earlier comic i made of them, but before the baton of obsession fell upon harper / dr williams, it originally was gonna be remy that was obsessed over vanida LMAOO due to vanida’s… assets…. and the fact that people did often try to kidnap her ( & failed ) in game, i was originally gonna have remy obsessed with vanida but idk… the lack of remy content and lore….. and then harper itched my medical kink mixed with smart, yet obsessed loser

I think I’ve only mentioned this to wreck, but Cody actually gets a lil 🤏 queasy if around dead bodies for too long. he’s seen too many bodies ( & of loved ones ) when he was young that being around dead people too long, he starts to feel nauseous
due to how many traumatic events cody witnessed when he was young, he was actually a very anxious and depressed teen!! it’s why he became a pothead during highschool to mellow it out ( he’s fine now as an adult though!! in terms of his anxiousness & depression; he just has mania )
the only person that makes cody legitimately want to shit his pants is vanida’s dad, jamie. that was a guy who willingly let cody see traumatic events & even threatened to beat the shit out of him as a child to teach him lessons if it weren’t for others intervening. tbh, jamie is responsible for a lot of the horrific shit cody witnessed as a kid LMAOO

noel originally was meant to be a lesbian, because in her narrative, the only people she romantically had / has interest in was her childhood friend who is heavily implied to be a girl, and wren / leo ( butch lesbian ). but idk, wanted to spice it up. have fun, so she became bisexual
before i changed noel / riley’s design ( & ultimately remy / linden’s design when i get to it ) i unintentionally made noel & remy’s designs look very similar because i hadn’t drawn remy in a long while HAHA to salvage it without ruining riley’s design, i WAS toying with the idea that mayhaps riley’s mom was assaulted by remy’s dad. ( which also would’ve made her half cousins with kylar / oliver too due to my interpretation of kylar / oliver being cousins with remy / linden ) but with the new setting that idea’s been scrapped. maybe. idk. we’ll see.
originally, before my oc update, noel’s sacrificed route was gonna be expanded upon!! i talked about it on my twitter, but after sacrificing noel to the cult, it would actually “corrupt” your game into turning into a horror survival, with red moon haunts being split 50/50 into being either IW or Noel, herself. But, her haunting could happen outside the red moon depending on your haunting meter, because the cult redistributed some of her body parts, some of the items you can buy in shops having a piece of her in it, which would raise the meter & haunting. the PC would have to navigate on who to trust, since certain NPCs ( coughwrencough ) would try to get you for Noel, or even kill you.
