Grill My Cheese!
Working a stones throw away from Leather Lane is one of my most and least favourite things.
I'm getting gradually poorer and larger, but on the plus side my belly has never been so happy and who doesn't love choice at lunch time.
Lined with indie pop ups, walking Leather Lane is like a gauntlet of gourmet street food. The best kind of gauntlet I'm sure you'll agree.
Its well worth making it all the way to the end however, as you'll be greeted by the girls at Grill My Cheese. Who've been putting a luxurious twist and a punch of flavour into the classic cheese toasty.
Plus who can turn down a business with so many good puns.
Snapping up a 'Baby Got Mac' I eagerly awaited my scrumptious, if slightly carb on carb, lunch.
It's a cheese lovers heaven, and with weekly changing specials as well as loyalty cards, no wonder they're a hit with locals and tourists alike.
They also set up on South Bank from time to time, so move your caboose and let the get to grilling your cheese too!
Day 27
Typing this out the next morning instead while im waiting in the airport for my flight. Today was our last program day in London! I went with some friends to the Leather Lane market. We got some good grilled cheese! I had to run a few errands before my family gets here too. And THEN I had to pack all day. Fun times. Yesterday we also had an afternoon tea with our program. It was originally supposed to be outside, but it rained all day so we had it inside. It was pretty good, and I’m happy that I got to have tea time before I left London. Then last night we went to a bar for our last sort of hurrah. Finished packing, and now today I’m headed to Ireland with some friends! The rain here seemed to bring cold weather, so it looks like I’ll be getting good use out of my jackets. Until tonight then.
The perks of working for Manifest
If I haven’t been posting for a while there is only one reason: work. However, if you work for Manifest Communications , work is as close to pleasure as it can get. Manifest is a marketing and communications agency based in London’s trendy Clerkenwell. It’s an all-round agency unlike any other I’ve worked for before. Manifest doesn’t only deal with public relations, social media, marketing,…

24 Hour Project - Leather Lane
This week, as part of my course, I had to complete a 24 hour project while on our week excursion to London. Now this doesn't mean I had to take photo's for 24 hours (honestly I never thought thats what it was) but we had to organise, plan and shoot a project within the hours between midnight Thursday morning and midnight Friday morning. After my original idea didn't pan out I decided to use the friendship I had made while on work experience in London with a local cafe owner named Arthur and his wife Lola. I spent part of almost everyday while I was there and they were so lovely and welcoming I had to go see them again. Their business is based on a road call Leather Lane, in Clerkenwell, London. This road is well known for its vibrant market and wife range of food stores, serving food from all over the world. So from this project I wanted to capture the lively, bright nature of this street, showing the variation in both businesses and people. Fortunately for me, the lovely Lola ran me around the street introducing me to workers up and down the street (such is the closeness everyone around there) and I found everyone to be welcoming and helpful for my project. I had an amazing experience and met some lovely people. Here are the 6 images that I submitted. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
