Why is it that we constantly want to bring up things that are better left alone?
Seriously?
Grudges
This is what I personally have a problem with, people holding grudges against people:
For starters, if someone has done you wrong, whether or not you forgive them isn't for them, that forgiveness is for you. I don't think we as humans realize what holding a grudge can do to our spiritual beings. Holding onto such negative feelings and emotions are toxic to our spiritual self. Yes, you may be angry at that person; yes, they may have done the worst thing imaginable to you; but, you cannot live your life with the weight of their wrong doings on your shoulders. Like an anvil, it will push you down until you feel weary, you wonder why you're not sleeping, why you're not eating, why you're not happy; it's because your un-intentions intentionally chose not to be happy.
Instead, you want to look at him cross eyed. Or make a fuss with her everytime she crosses your path. Tell me, what good does it do you to wish malice onto somebody else? Does it pay your bills? Does it feed your children? Ultimately, DOES IT MAKE YOU HAPPY?
The word of the Lord says to love those that spitefully use you; I'm not saying to go ahead and bake them pies everyday and carry them out for lunch as they harvest your weaknesses and plot your downfall. But, what I am saying is to forgive them, and move on. Just move on! Don't talk about them to your friends, "Oh I saw so and so". Don't wish harm on them, "I swear he just need to die". Don't worry about them PERIOD!
Yes they still may be talking about you, so what? God judges the heart, and if your heart lies next to bitterness, then you'll spend eternity in hell right alongside them; how's that for a happy ending?
