Is it hard to have a gf? I mean, there are so many women to choose from. Is it hard to stay focused/ loyal? Do you date girls for the fun or do you actually think dating as a preparation for marriage? Do you think you could deal with all the commitment? Anyway, I hope Ria makes you happy!
Well, it’s rather conventional at myage, I assume. I don’t think it’s a matter of choosing though, and has more todo with… well, if you and that other person just simply click, you know? And I mean, of course - after you’ve been in a steady relationshipfor a longer period of time, something outside of that partnership tends to be…more attractive, in a way. From this certain kind of “forbidden fruit” perspective, rather than being anything more than that, do you know what I mean? Thatcertain craving you get forsomething you don’t have, the sole reason behind it being that you’re not allowed toreach after it (though that also depends on certain agreements you might makewith your partner - not all people are exclusive). Also, I’ve neverseen dating as “preparation for marriage”. I think dating is somethingthat happens spontaneously, once you figure out you’re in the same wavelengthwith a specific person, But neither is it exclusively “for fun” either.Of course - having a partner whom you can have fun with is super important, butthat’s also just a part of it. You have to find someone you can trust, andsomeone who trusts you back; someone whom you can talk to about shit when lifegets too much, but would listen to them vent about their own when and if thetime was to come. And these “serious” kind of aspects in a romanticrelationship probably do reek of a whole lot of commitment, but I simply just seeit as something that’s crucial, even in platonic relationships, in order forthem to properly function. To summon up: it’snot always easy to be in a relationship, not in the slightest. But havingsomeone there for you - knowing you have a responsibility to someone, and thatthat someone has the sense of liability when it comes to you, too - especiallyif you’ve been with them for a long while, and they already hold your strugglesin the palm of their hand, is usually… just worth it all. Worth all the shit peoplemust sometimes go through to upkeep with the steadiness, because in the end ofthe day, it doesn’t really matter if you’re “married”. As much as I find theidea of it okay, marriage is still but a social construct, and would never meanmuch to me personally. One can be committed and or loyal without marriage, ornot be committed and/or loyal whilst being married. All in all. It’s a matterof connection.I’ll stopblabbering now, it’s just hard to explain, I guess, hahah…But thanks for your nice wishes!
