UNKNWN unveils Nike LeBron 8 “South Beach” 2021 Inspired Basketball Court
Miami-based clothing brand and concept retailer UNKNWN (www.unknwn.com) just launched the Nike LeBron 8 “South Beach” 2021 with a curated in-store experience on Saturday, July 10th at UNKNWN Miami (261 NW 26th Street Miami, FL 33127). The launch event at UNKNWN’s flagship store in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, celebrated the Miami community and looked back at LeBron James’ back-to-back championship years. Adding to the high wattage experience of the celebrations around the release of LeBron James' movie "Space Jam: A New Legacy" (in theaters this Friday), Nike honored King James by transforming UNKNWN’s outdoor courtyard into a South Beach inspired basketball court painted mural. The pink and teal court painting commemorates the re-release of the style and will be a must-see attraction in the bustling art-driven destination of Wynwood. As previously announced, UNKNWN is showcasing rare and speciality Nike LeBron PE basketball shoes from LeBron James' personal collection and giving away personalized “Welcome to South Beach '' custom photo booth postcards during the release of the style.

John Elliott x Lebron James Nike Icon QS
The John Elliott x Nike LeBron James Icon QS returns in a black colorway and extends the collaborative partnership between James, Elliott and Nike from the first black and white design released in 2018. Featuring the midsole tooling of the LEBRON 8, the colorway introduces black detailing contrasted against translucent panels on the upper.
It was LeBron’s inimitable will and superhuman talent that originally led Elliott to pull references from the metaphor of a spillway, the structure that controls and forcefully disperses water from a dam. “This idea of water being released from a spillway — a force of nature — is actually really beautiful,” explains Elliott. “There are literally layers of transparency that take place down a contained, concrete area, which also speaks to my aesthetic.”
Elliott combined the tooling and full-length Nike Air of his favorite LeBron shoe, the LEBRON 8, with layers of court-inspired embroidery and translucent upper material.
Elliott says, "The Icon has become part of my uniform. It’s deeply ingrained in the brand, from the way we style our lookbooks, to how we live in Los Angeles. This version is versatile because the upper allows you to create a layered look depending on what socks you wear underneath, but the all black design is also stealthy. It’s one of those sneakers that’s like a Swiss Army Knife for your wardrobe, it works with almost anything."
Alongside the black iteration of the ICON QS, John Elliott debuts two new sock color ways in Green Lime and Blue Lighting which were designed to be worn with the sneaker. These will be available exclusively through the John Elliott Melrose Flagship and johnelliott.com with the sneaker drops.
The sneaker will be released with an early drop on May 22nd exclusively at the John Elliott Flagship (8808 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood), followed by a drop on May 25th through johnelliott.com.
