Do what feels right for you before they try and get to you. I find it pretty terrible that in a show that covers topics about mental health people can be so closed minded and ignorant :/
I also tweeted about the weakening of the female characters in the show as well and got called names too. What I found most interesting is that most (maybe all) of the people who have come at me in the tag are women. Then again, that's real life. It's always women trying to boss me about my opinions and feelings. I don't understand why that is, why they feel a need to stay anything at all.
i mean seriously, the tag is pretty tiny and I don't think it's ever come close to trending, and if the people against the tag stayed out of the tag, it'd be even smaller than it is. That's why it's so weird. It's like how is this productive? How is calling me names going to get us anywhere? How is making tweets that say "#CancelHannibal is rude. Eat the rude. #RenewHannibal" going to help them? I mean they're tagging the tag they're trying to systematically destroy through manipulation and abuse.
I mean as an executive for the show browsing the tag, I don't know if I'd be more concerned about the people going "#CancelHannibal because fridge jokes when they're fridging women" or more concerned about the people spouting dangerous, erroneous information about stroboscopics, or the people going, "You're such a dumbass. Use your brain." I mean is dangerous medically incorrect information and childish name calling what I want to support? Then again, they're the people who want to make me money.
That said, Supernatural has an entire trope that happened because a loud group of fandom approved of misogynistic killing out of hatred of certain female characters and now people are going "Wow, SPN, killing more women off?" so who knows where the fandom will be in like five seasons.
