they're always bringing experts or activists on the news to agitate about porn and there's a standard script for this that's like "I think sex education is important, I'm not anti-sex, but so much of this porn is violent and misogynistic if not outright illegal, and it's far too accessible to our children"
I want to see someone finally be brave enough to say that the government should just make its own porn for teenagers that accords with community values, so they don't have to go to these shady places to get it. I think the government porn would probably be pretty bad but I would be so eager to hear about the process of designing it. there would be so many stakeholders and consultations. in canada it would have to be bilingual
no-one would find it at all sexy at first but then in 20 years there'd be a thriving fetish scene where people develop elaborate codes and practices around culturally-embedded tropes from government porn

speaking of volcanology i am at my LIMIT with people thinking that yellowstone is "overdue". Its not fucking pregnant. if it ever erupts again we'll have decades if not centuries of warning. whenever theres "increased activity" there it means something vibrated a bit more or something.
and while we're on it the eruptions happening rn are also not out of the ordinary. what kilauea is doing is not a cause for alarm. volcanoes erupt all the time its a part of our planet I am losing my mind
They aborted the Yellowstone super eruption because of woke
this is true
honestly i think im good without that thanks

On this day, 27 June 1869, Emma Goldman, the legendary Jewish writer, feminist, birth control advocate and anarchist was born in what is now Lithuania. Emigrating to New York City, she worked in many different jobs, like in textile sweatshops, as a masseuse, and in an ice cream parlour. Goldman stressed the importance of the interconnectedness of different struggles, like women's rights, as well as the need to transform our everyday lives: "The right to vote, or equal civil rights, may be good demands, but true emancipation begins neither at the polls nor in courts. It begins in woman's soul. History tells us that every oppressed class gained true liberation from its masters through its own efforts. It is necessary that woman learn that lesson, that she realise that her freedom will reach as far as her power to achieve her freedom reaches. It is, therefore, far more important for her to begin with her inner regeneration, to cut loose from the weight of prejudices, traditions, and customs. The demand for equal rights in every vocation of life is just and fair; but, after all, the most vital right is the right to love and be loved. Indeed, if partial emancipation is to become a complete and true emancipation of woman, it will have to do away with the ridiculous notion that to be loved, to be sweetheart and mother, is synonymous with being slave or subordinate. It will have to do away with the absurd notion of the dualism of the sexes, or that man and woman represent two antagonistic worlds." For her activism she was arrested many times, jailed repeatedly and eventually stripped of her citizenship and expelled and deported to Russia. We have some of her work, as well as items celebrating her life, available here: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/all/emma-goldman

I love her.
this is my impression of what it would look like if the toddlers at my job could make traumacore edits about me
you have a disgusting storytelling addiction
It’s true. It goes back a long way, too. It all started when…
matt tied me up last night. we had been planning this for a bit. just used my bed restraints and a blindfold, nothing fancy (yet). really good for me as expected, but they also really liked it. were also open to talking about impact in the future. after we talked about what kink things I might want with them, and what kinds of dynamics I want to pursue with the roster. I am interested in seeing if they respond to any kind of impact though. they have a high threshold for sensory stuff and need a lot of stimulation/input generally so I think there's a chance it would do something for them sensory wise if not power dynamic wise.
the rainbow is a well-known symbol of gay pride that originated in the late 1970s in san francisco, when the gay community promised to never again destroy the earth by flood

i am not a psychiatrist but i do find it really weird how autism checklists are so often focused on "outward" signs of autism rather than what is going on internally. i don't know how to explain it but "do you make eye contact with other people" feels like a much less relevant question than "how does it feel when you have to make eye contact with other people?"
while i'm here, the other one that always pisses me off is "do you interpret idioms literally, for example 'bull in a china shop'?"
well, no, obviously. i know what "bull in a china shop" means because that is a popular phrase with a clearly defined meaning. and if i hadn't heard it before, then i would still not interpret it literally, because it has the cadence of an idiom and i would probably be able to work out from context what it meant. what is the point of this question
third and final complaint: "are you good at noticing subtext?"
i feel like the problem with this question is best illustrated by a conversation i had with a friend a while back, where i said something like, "i feel very safe with you because you don't do subtle hints and you are always very straight-up with me about what you are thinking and feeling."
and he laid a hand on my shoulder and was like, look dude i'm gonna be straight up here. i am subtle with you constantly and you simply do not notice <3
@luckyybones hope you don't mind me screenshotting but you are actually so correct

matt decided to start assembling a bed about 15 minutes before I expected them to head to my place for dinner. then they took close to 2 hours to finish and be ready to leave. so they have just headed out and won't get here until after 7, but were also supposed to bring dinner. definitely frustrating because they know I have a thing about time, and this seems inconsiderate regardless.
