Roosters are very territorial and protective with their mates, so I kinda imagine Alectryon ready to jump at anyone who slanders Ares or speaks bad of him, or disrespects him, or whatever.

He'd be ready to fucking fistfight Enyalius if he was given the chance to and die proud about it.

Yk what? Making Greek gods disguise themselves as Roman gods (… or give them D.I.D…) is kinda boring, uncreative, generic, unaccurrate, and very complex to make it make sense. Especially because I believe that all gods are their own being, unless they’re syncretized. I believe that Ra is Ra, Belenus is Belenus and Helios is Helios, not that they’re different aspects of the same sun god. And that they gain power in other territories by syncretization. Like Greeks gaining power in Roman places thanks to how influential they were.

Romans and Greeks are SEPARATE PANTHEONS in TAOH.

¿Saben qué? Paso de hacer que los dioses griegos se disfracen de dioses romanos (o darles T.I.D.). Es un muy aburrido, poco creativo, genérico, impreciso y muy complejo de entender. Sobre todo porque creo que todos los dioses son seres independientes, a menos que estén sincretizados. Creo que Ra es Ra, Belenos es Belenos y Helios es Helios, no que sean aspectos diferentes del mismo dios del sol. Y que ganan poder en otros territorios mediante el sincretismo. Como los griegos, que ganando poder en territorios romanos gracias a su influencia.

I don’t think the trauma I’m giving Alectryon is “too much”.

To this day, Alectryon is still singing for Ares. And the point of said trauma is to answer: why is he so attached to Ares? Why wouldn’t he let go, even if it’s been like 3400 years and he’s in hands of another god (Helios)? Why is Ares so special for him?

His trauma IS necessary to explain this. It’s literally key to his myth.
