A lee!leon, lers!co-workers fic. Basically a fix-it. Huge thanks to @batlikestickles for hyping me up LOVE YOUUUUU!!!
Leon was, to put it frankly, a mess. His girlfriend broke up with him yesterday, leading to a whole tub of ice cream consumed while crying and watching "The Office" reruns, which in turn lead to him missing his alarm and becoming late for his FIRST DAY as a real cop! Just what he needed. On top if that, he was even more late because he had to stop for gas on the way to Raccoon city!
Sigh... At least the traffic was merciful and allowed him to swiftly find his way to the RPD building parking lot. He makes sure to smooth out his clothes, take a deep breath and steel his nerves the best he could.
Okay, so Chief Irons is terrifying but Leon made it through, albeit with a newfound fear. He rushed to put on his newly aquired uniform and badge, eyes gleaming with pride whilst looking in the mirror. After years of school and work, he's finally a real cop.
He headed towards Lieutenant Branaugh's office with a hint of pride in the way he held himself. He'd been told he'd join Lieutenant Marvin Branaugh's team and to head to his office to get shown his desk and recieve his nameplate.
What was waiting for him was surprising, but made him quite honestly tear up. His new colleauges had set up a little welcome celebration. Yellow letters on a blue background reading 'welcome leon' greeted him, as well as warm words of welcome, snacks and drinks. He honestly felt a bit overwhelmed, but this was exactly what he needed after such an emotionally taxing night.
"Welcome to the team, Kennedy." Lieutenant Marvin smiled, clapping a hand on Leon's shoulder.
"Thank you Lieutenant, I... I don't know what to say." Leon responded, still reeling from the kindness.
"Don't mention it, kid." Marvin waved a dismissive hand. "Now go, mingle, get to know your co-workers. You'll have to see their ugly mugs most days from today onward."
A few light-hearted protests and curses were thrown at the insult, but it was all in good fun.
With a subtle breath to ease his anxious mind, he grabbed a cup of (thankfully) non-alcoholic punch and began mingling with his fellow officers.
Not even an hour later Marvin stood up for an announcment; "Boys, you know what time it is." He nodded at Leon. Okay... a very vague announcment. Judging by the surrounding officers' smiles, however, it sounded worrying. Less in the 'something bad is going to happen' way, more in the 'uh oh, I smell a plot/prank' way.
Sure enough he was approached by one of the larger guys on the team and was clapped on the shoulder. "I'd say I'm sorry for this, rookie, but I'm not." Before Leon could question what he meant he was lifted up in the air under his arms like a misbehaving cat, and plopped onto a couch. He didn't have time to get a word in before he was grappled by two of the younger officers, Tina and... James? Probably. He'd like to say he put up a good fight, but he was so stunned by the sudden change that before he knew it, Tina had firmly pinned his arms above his head and James sat on his shins.
"Uh- wh- what is this??" Leon asked, tugging experimentally on his arms and recieving a flick on the forehead from Tina for his troubles.
"Don't worry your head, pretty boy." Dick spoke (his name was Richard, but right now Dick felt more appropriate,) his smirk a little to sharp at the edges. "We just got a question– d'ya happen to be ticklish, rookie?"
Leon's reaction couldn't be more obvious if he tried. His eyes grew wide as saucers and a wobbly smile grew unbidden on his lips. "Wh- T- uh- me? Ticklish?? Whaat... haha, no, no way, that's dumb! I mean—" He rambled as the lint on the couch suddenly became very interesting.
Yeah, okay, maybe he should work on his bluffing skills... For now, though, he's got to survive what is shaping up to be a terribly ticklish situation. "Yeah, see, I don't believe you." James droned, pointing a finger at Leon's stomach and grinning when he sucked it in. That grin grew wider when he wiggled that finger just above the blonde and earnt him a mildly hysterical babble. "Nonono- c'mon guys, this is stupid! We're cops, we—"
"Uh, yeah, you really need to relax." Tina rolled her eyes, firmly shutting him up by rapidly poking around his torso, her annoyed expression morphing into one of mischeif. "Good thing we're here to help!"
Leon squeaked and jolted this way and that in what looked like a ridiculous little dance to escape from the now teasing digits. To those around it was both ridiculous and adorable to watch his face go a soft baby pink. "C'mohon– no, hehey, fuck! Aha– quihit it!" He tittered, immensely embarrassed that he was being tickled like this in front of all his new co-workers, by his new co-workers.
James laughed at how ridiculous Leon was being, an evil little plot hatching in his head. He towered over Leon as much as possible, clawed hands hovering menacingly before rapidly dropping, causing the new officer to squeal, toss his head to the side and squeeze his eyes shut. He braced for impact, but it never came...
When he felt all tickling withdraw, he carefully cracked one sapphire eye open and was met with a horrific sight. Truly heart-stopping, traumatic, unforgettable...
Both Tina and James were making clawing and spidering motions right above him, threatening his poor tummy, his terribly ticklish underarms, his embarrassingly sensitive waist... He squeaked in a startled and embarrassed manner and quickly shut his eyes.
"Ohoho yeah, lookit!" Someone from the little group laughs in a mocking yet friendly manner– teasing manner. "C'mon, open your eyes. We can't be here all day rookie, and criminals won't wait for you to be ready."
"Wh–" Leon broke off into shrieking laughter as four hands descended onto him. "Aahahaha!! Wait- fuck, nonohoho!" He shook his head as he tugged and squirmed, but the grip of his fellow officers was unyeilding.
"I think the rookie might've lied to us..." Tina hummed sarcastically.
"I don't know, he said he wasn't ticklish." James shrugged and snaked his hands under Leon's uniform and grinning at the snort he got in response. "Ohhh, someone's got a ticklish tummy."
"Shihihit- nonoOh! Fuhuck ohaff!" Leon swore, sharply arching his back to try and dislodge James, but unfortunately all that did was push him towards those evil hands. Fingers twirled and danced underneath his shirt. Tracing the spot where his sides meet his stomach made his muscles spasm, tickling the little patch of soft skin under his bellybutton made him babble with hysterics, and wiggling a finger around in it made him snort and cackle.
"Ohhh, did you hear that?" Tina said, tazing her fingers towards the back of Leon's ribs. "I think I made him wheeze! C'mon, let's turn him over."
James grinned and nodded, lifting his weight so Tina could flip the rookie officer over onto his stomach. Leon saw his chance to escape and began squirming, successfully rolling onto the floor with a thunk and a giggly groan.
That didn't last long however, because as soon as Leon realized he was free, he scrambled to his feet and took several steps back, body still tingling with phantom tickles. "Y-you... you're evil!" He accused breathlessly, protectively curling one arm around his stomach whilst sporting a big smile.
"Aw, come on, we weren't done yet!" Those words set Leon's face aflame like no other and, before anyone could capture him in their tickly clutches, he turned on his heel and ran. He didn't quite know where he was running, but he knew he was recieving plenty of confused and amused looks from the officers he ran past.
He spotted a door as he rounded a corner in a somewhat uncrowded corridor and threw it open. He dashed inside without a second thought and closed the door as gently as he could muster.
Leon leaned his head against the wooden door of what he now realizes is the break room. A lingering scent of coffee wafted through the air and the AC hummed softly in the background. Finally Leon was able to catch his breath and relax, and suddenly was hit with the embarrassment of having his new coworkers find out he's ticklish and running away.
He didn't have much time to wallow however, because he heard a playful voice croon out, "ohhh newbie! Don't be shy, come out come out wherever you are!"
Leon's breath hitched as a surge of nervous anticipation set him on edge again and a smile made it's way onto his lips. He frantically looked around and spotted a backroom with two beds, which he dove for. He threw himself underneath one of the janky beds and listened closely as slow footsteps and teasing voices came closer and closer...
"Where oh where could the rookie be?" James' voice came from just outside, and two others responded with similair hums and questions. Leon was mortified to feel a giggle begin to bubble up from his chest and he quickly clapped both hands over his mouth.
Leon squeezed his eyes shut as the door creaked open and the sound of three boots walking along the mahogany floor. "Ohhh rookie~" A voice Leon couldn't place sang, boots slowly approaching his hiding spot. "I just don't know where he could be!" Another voice spoke and the metal bedframe creaked as someone placed their weight atop it.
"Tsk. Guess he just isn't here." James sighed and finally Leon could make out two boots walking away. He shifted before he could realize wait, only two pairs of boots—
He's not afraid to admit he screamed like a little girl when a strong hand grabbed his ankle and yanked him out of his hiding spot. "Found you." A man he now recognized as Dick grinned, and Leon felt butterflies erupt in his stomach. The smile on his face turned into a nervous grin no matter how much he fought it. James and a guy he can remember was called Elliot quickly rushed back in with huge, matching cheshire cat grins adorning their faces.
"Wait— wait we can talk about this, rihight guys?" Leon giggled, hands raised in a vain attempt at defense. Of course they couldn't, so instead he was thrown onto the bottom bunk and very effectively pinned face-down on the soft mattress.
"Wahahait– come on guys!"
"Nope! No more waiting. Elliot you get his arms, Dick you try his back." James gave out tasks whilst he himself sat down firmly on Leon's calves.
"Nonono— hey, don't you da-HARE!" Leon's voice broke in a squeak when fingers descend upon his upper back, spidering along his spine and scratching beneath his shoulderblades. The teasing fingers coaxed out the sweetest giggles and titters and Leon buried his face in the sheets to muffle them. He didn't... hate it, actually. It was relaxing in some chaotic way.
His head snapped up from where he'd buried it when he felt someone slip his sneaker off. "Whahaait! Whaha— nonono! Plehehease, cohome ohonnnn!" Leon whined, tugging uselessly at his pinned legs.
"Oh, sounds like feet might be a good spot." James taunting voice echoed in Leon's ears, which had slowly began to adopt the colour of a ripe strawberry. A few exploratory scritches along his arch had Leon squealing and pressing his face right back into the mattress. Oh god it tickles so much- was about all Leon could think, because that asshole Elliott had began softly tickling along his upper arms.
"PLEHEHEASE!! IHIHIT TICKLES!" Leon cackled between bouts of useless squirming. "NonOnONO NOT THERE!"
"D'awww, look at 'im! He's so cute!" Dick cooed and wow, what a fitting name, Leon thought. "Where do they keep finding such cute newbies?"
"I know right?" Elliot chimed in. "He's just so cute and soft-looking! He's even got puppy eyes."
Leon just shrieked and hid his face in the sheets as James scribbled around his heel and scritched under his socked toes. At this rate he thinks he might go insane!
"Hey, puppies like belly rubs, right?" Dick said, pausing his playful attack. "Let's flip him over and see!"
Leon was flipped over onto his back and had a few moments to catch his breath while his fellow officers shifted around to pin his arms above his head and sit on his hips, while Elliott took a seat by his side.
A hand came to rest on Leon's stomach and his muscles twitched in anticipation. "Nohoohoo..." he whined, attempting to bury his pink cheeks in his outstretched arm.
"Yeeess!" Elliot cooed, fingers curling and beginning to wander slowly over the clothed expanse of his stomach. Leon went limp except for his head, which tossed from side to side to expose a glowing grin and the sweetest giggles you'll ever hear.
Cooing came from all around him and the hands that had seemed intent on making him go insane finally stilled. "Ohohooo... oho my gahawd.." he giggled deleriously.
"Welcome to the team, Leon." James grinned, offering the still hiccupy rookie a hand, which was taken with a failed glare. "C'mon, let's go get you your own desk."
