@allvalley100 here’s another prompt for the Amnesty Week, this time with my take on RITUAL! Additionally, this is a preview for the piece I had hoped to complete for Silverusso Day, but I’m hoping the taste of it delights enough for now.

Terry sighed, adjusting his Jareth costume one last time.

Every year since its founding, Terry Silver would go to the Labyrinth Masquerade ball, find the guest who most resembled his darling Danny-boy, and promptly fuck their brains out.

He had made quite a few friends this way… an actor named Chris (now happily married to some karate bimbo in New York… Ruben, right?), a mad scientist named Lee almost more deranged than Terry himself (oh Terry had nearly loved him), most recently a police officer named Nick…

This year would be different, though. He could feel it in his bones.

The Anatomy of a Lesbian - Lee Dorian (most likely not a pseudonym?), originally published 1965

     I’m going to be totally honest here. I have no idea why I bought this book. I think it was cheap? Maybe it had free shipping? I don’t know, because there is nothing really enticing about this cover.

     Obviously, this is not a pulp novel. This is a depressing, moralistic tyrade masquerading as a semi-psychiatric study of the female homosexual (evidently, Lee Dorian wrote A LOT of these). So, in lieu of a review, I will include some of my favourite terrible quotes from the novel. TW for homophobia, of course.

+ The word “dildo” was mispelled as “dilbo” on multiple occasions

+ The word “tribadism” was explained in parentheses virtually every time it is used in the book

+ “Obviously, what the woman is achieving when she takes this position [being on top] during the sex act is clitoral stimulation - or the stimulation sought by the Lesbian!”

+ “Thus to be pretty, via a union with a pretty girl, was to fantasy that her mother would accept and love her.”

+ “It is reasonable to think that prejudice against the female homosexual in our society will never die. All the female homosexual can do is live with i!”

+ “Among their hopes, is that a day may come when the female “couple” will be invited to a friend’s home as casually as a heterosexual couple. This is, indeed, the stuff that dreams are made of!”

+ “Why? How? What can one woman possibly do to another to bring about sexual gratification except mutual masturbation which, of course, is practiced among teen-agers of both sexes as one of their first initiations into the mysteries of sex. As the girl or boy develops, however, beyond the Oedipal level, they lose all interest in these practices and seek the love of a member of the opposite sex.”
