I still gonna lie to myself that Cha Minkyu didn't die. He was done with everything and went on holiday.
Mantis will join him after he deals with Benjamin.
I should write a fic about it.
The Merciless x Kill Boksoon and Mantis Crossover?
The idea has been stuck in my head, what if Minkyu and Mantis met Jaeho and Hyunsoo?
So let's assume that it's based in the canon setting of both movies (The Merciless and Kill Boksoon) and let's ignore the timeline. Also everybody is alive!
What if Jaeho killed Chairman Ko and took over Oceans Trading and then his name is even more recognised than before? So much that MK Entertainment hears about some gangster in Busan and classifies him as a potential customer/target? Someone is sent to check around if this Han Jaeho person would be a problem but they come back with something that completely changes everything. Han Jaeho's photo.
He looks too much like Cha Minkyu. Before an hour passes, the company is full of rumors about twin brothers or clones and everybody is suddenly very interested and concerned.
And the person who wants to learn what is going on the most is Cha Minkyu, because someone is going around, running a drug empire WITH HIS FACE..
Normally he would have someone trail Jaeho to learn more but this is urgent. So orders to have Jaeho taken and delivered to him. For a talk.
Turns out that catching Han Jaeho takes a lot of effort. The man is cautious. And brutal. The MK's employees who were sent to get him end up hurt (or killed) but somehow manage to get their target alive to the headquarters. They place Han in a nice office with some food because even if the kidnapped him they don’t want to torture him for information.
The first one who wants to go talk to him is Minhee because she has to see the man who dares to wear her brother's face. Minkyu stops her. And he doesn't want to do it but well, Boksoon is the best option, right?
Boksoon laughs hard when she sees Han Jaeho on camera but she agrees. She goes in, welcomes Jaeho, and explains that MK is interested in him. Not exactly why, just that they are. She understands that this man is smart and getting anything out of him, like his plans or family history will be hard. She flirts a little, he flirts back but she sees he's not really interested. He also doesn't let her learn more than necessary.
Minkyu is not happy when she comes back with nothing but when she tells him he should talk with Jaeho himself because it will throw him off he listens. He goes in. Jaeho, seeing him frowns, before trying to remember deeply buried memories of his parents and if someone ever mentioned something about twins. He doubts it. He is curious but he also doesn't want to give the man with his face anything. Minkyu ends up even less successful than Boksoon.
Talks are ineffective so they really consider getting more brutal (even if this whole situation doesn't make sense. What could Minkyu do about Han Jaeho? Kill him for looking like him? That's absurd. But Minkyu wants to know everything about the man because what is someone might use Jaeho to fuck something up and blame it on Minkyu?)
But then MK employees find someone who wants to betray Han Jaeho. Some old gangster who is not happy with the change of CEO in Ocean Trading. They bring the man in, question him and he gives them a lot.
That is until Lee Hanul aka Mantis, gets into the room and the traitor is sure that he would be killed because that is Han Jaeho’s most loyal dog right here. But the one he thinks to be Jo Hyunsoo doesn't even pay attention to him, just asks the person who is interviewing the traitor about Cha Minkyu whereabout. MK's employee points at the one-way mirror. And Mantis leaves.
And this is where the traitor asks "Did you get this man here to get to Han Jaeho?". And this gets everyone curious because Mantis just came back from the show but why does that matter? And the traitor doesn't say that this young man has the face of Han Jaeho's lover. Because that's stupid. Who would believe that? So he just says "He is Han Jaeho's type."
That is a surprising revelation but even Minkyu has to admit that Hanul is pretty. So of course Mantis is the next person who is sent to talk with Han Jaeho. Mantis is informed about the situation and is a bit against it because he is told to flirt and that's weird to flirt with someone who looks like his very scary boss. But well, you don't refuse tasks given by the company.
When he enters the room where Han Jaeho is, this is the first time Jaeho’s indifferent amusement that he had kept on from the moment he arrived, breaks. He looks at Hanul in absolute shock. At first he thinks it’s Hyunsoo, but his hair is longer and his moves are wrong. And he understands, he knows why this look-alike was sent to him. This is psychological warfare.
The newcomer is nice, smiles a lot but there is something uncertain about his actions. Hyunsoo isn’t like that. But because Jaeho is a sucker for that face he entertains the man who introduced himself as ‘Hanul’ with conversation. And it’s hard because he looks like Hyunsoo and is not Hyunsoo and Jaeho is intrigued but also close to losing his mind.
And despite being freaked out by the clear want in the older man’s eyes, Hanul goes along with what is happening because he was told to. Also it’s nice when someone gives him so much attention and hangs on his every word.
However, Jaeho still remembers that he has Hyunsoo. Who is probably worried because it has been almost 24h since they saw each other and Jaeho is quite sure he is not in Busan anymore. He is hungry but he won’t eat anything they gave him. He knows he’s there because of the man who looks like him and wonders if that man, Cha Minkyu, is also smitten with that man who looks like Hyunsoo as Jaeho is with actual Hyunsoo.
(he also maybe considers threesome but he is just a man, facing the second most beautiful person he had ever seen)
And then Minkyu gets a message that someone is in the lobby looking for Han Jaeho and the front desk is panicking because there is someone who looks like Mantis there but is not in fact Mantis. And this is how Jo Hyunsoo enters the scene.
Mantis understands why Minkyu was freaking out so much about a person who looks like him. Because there is a dude with the same face, wearing cheap clothes and he is apparently a gangster. He knows that his job is not exactly righteous and moral, but a gangster? Not to mention he’s look-alike is older than him!
Hyunsoo sees them all, Minkyu, Hanul and Jaeho in one room and freezes just for a second. It’s definitely surprising seeing the clones of Jaeho and him but instead of them his focus shifts to Jaeho who looks relieved seeing him. Hyunsoo kind of understands. If someone sends someone who looks like Jaeho on him he also would be freaked out. He hopes that Chun would never learn about the existence of Cha Minkyu.
Okay that’s it for now.
Hanul had to pretend that he was weaker than he was so the people around him wouldn't feel bad :(
