TREKMATCH! # 563 - Discovery's "Choose Your Pain" vs 2019's The Half of It
THE HALF OF IT
A shy high school girl needs money so she agrees to ghost write some love letters for a doofy jock, but maybe she's in a little Cyrano de Bergerac sitch because she's crushing on the girl the jock likes! It's a sweet little movie although I didn't really understand how the bullies could sabotage a piano so easily - like, I don't know how to sabotage a piano, is this common knowledge??
GRADE: C+
STAR TREK: DISCOVERY - "Choose Your Pain"
Lorca winds up in Klingon jail where he meets a deceptive space creep named Harcourt Fenton Mudd and a secret Klingon named Ash Tyler. And actually Lorca's pretending to be not a mirror dude so this is just a whole little room of lies. Also Tilly gets to say Star Trek's first fuck!

Star Trek Discovery Review S2E4
The writing for “An Obol for Charon” is spectacular and there were no moments where I felt sharks were utilized. At two points I even cried; information provided by the Star Trek Shorts came in handy this episode as well. This episode connected all of its story threads in a wonderfully intelligent way. Visually the episode was fantastic with CGI on part with that of Star Wars or other big budget productions. I still prefer a different focus on the art but they do not lose me in the depiction of gravity or celestial objects at any point. I can’t really extrapolate more on the episode for I really enjoyed it. If Discovery has even one more episode on this level of quality the entire series is worth watching.
