Remembering Diane Ladd, Lee Weaver and Tchéky Karyo
Here is my combined remembrance of three entertainers we lost:
Remembering Diane Ladd 1935-2025
Actress Diane Ladd has died at 89. She and ex-husband Bruce Dern are the parents of Laura Dern. To say talent runs in that family is an understatement.

She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the movie Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, where she played Flo. How sad that we recently lost actress Polly Holliday who played Flo on the Alice TV series as well. Ladd did actually appear as Belle Dupree on the 1980-81 season of that series. She was also nominated for Supporting Actress in David Lynch's Wild at Heart (just try to NOT think about her lipstick in that movie) and Rambling Rose, the later two co-starred her daughter Laura. They collaborated many times including Citizen Ruth, Lynch's Inland Empire, and the series Enlightened. Other notable films included Chinatown, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (as Clark's mother), Primary Colors, and Joy.

Remembering Lee Weaver 1930-2025
Actor Lee Weaver has died at 95. He was one of the stars of the short-lived TV sitcom Easy Street (NBC 1986-87) starring Loni Anderson. Around that same time he was doing the voice of Alpine on the G.I. Joe animated series. Other small but notable films he did included O Brother Where Art Thou?, Donnie Darko, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

Remembering Tchéky Karyo 1953-2025
Actor Tchéky Karyo has died at 72. He was mostly known in French cinema, but some international hits he was in included Le Femme Nikita, the James Bond comeback Goldeneye, A Very Long Engagement, and last year's The Killer (John Woo remade his own film in France).
