OtSttCA Update

Hey there! Sorry for the bit of quiet on my end as of late! Since many of you follow or lurk on this blog for my story, I thought I’d give you all a bit of an update regarding it since I know I’ve been more than a little behind with a consistent schedule for it.

I alluded to this in one of the author notes, but I was let go from my last job a few months after the pandemic started. The free time I had following that allowed me to start writing OtSttCA, and given that I hadn’t been writing consistently for years up to that point, I’m very pleased with the progress I’ve made! OtSttCA will officially be a year old this upcoming week! :’)

And I know I say it a lot, but the feedback I’ve gotten from readers has also been absolutely amazing. OtSttCA is admittedly bit of a niche fic, given the main character’s background is so different compared to what you would see in canon. I honestly didn’t expect my story to get the attention it did, but I’m always humbled whenever I see those kudos, comments, and hits get higher and higher with each update! I can’t thank you all enough for your support!

Wanting to write about the things I love and having that to be recognized in a positive manner has always been something of a dream of mine, but it unfortunately doesn’t pay the bills. Maybe someday I’ll find a way of making that work for me, but for now, it is what it is.

Anyway, a bit of good news is that I got a job offer earlier this month, and I’m slated to start this upcoming week! :D It’s a full-time job, and given that it will be my first one since the pandemic started, I’m quite excited about it and more than a little nervous.

That said, I have no idea as of yet how this new work schedule is going to affect output for OtSttCA. Updates may still be once a month, or it might just be every other month going forward. I’ll update my FAQ with more information once I figure it out though. If nothing else, you’ll still probably see more WIPs of what ideas I have beyond OtSttCA, so content isn’t going to be brought to an immediate halt on my end anytime soon.

I know it’s not the same as a consistent update schedule, but please know that I have no intentions of abandoning OtSttCA. :) I have every intention of working on it until it’s finished, which could be as soon as six months from now or at least another year at the rate I’m going at.
