Vega the Echidna; between myself and @leechblades fanchild
@leechblades asked: " ...You've fought echidnas before. "
"...a few times, yeah." He's not sure where Shade is going with this, or what response the answers he provides will provoke, but for the moment he's tentatively forthcoming.
"They weren't exactly all suited-up like you are, but across the board they were pretty tough. One almost killed me, come to think of it." Scourge looks down at his chest. If he wasn't standing on the Master Emerald, on the verge of going super, he probably would have had his guts spilled by the old Guardian, dying a forgotten joke in the middle of that chamber.
"Paid him back with a beatdown for that, at least." The only reason he hadn't killed the old man was because his old partner in crime had held him back.
@leechblades gets a starter because I said so
The echidna wasn't one for company. Those early formative years of his life and the hidden isolation of the very island he lived on were one and the same-- cut from the same cloth, if you will. In more ways than one.
Such a fact only made the instance of a direct invitation to Angel Island all the more odd. Nigh unprecedented, really. Sonic, Tails, Amy... his closest friends, his most trusted of allies. His family. Of course, they were allowed free access to Angel Island, but it was rare for the brawler to call directly for even their appearance on his island. If he needed them, he went to them. Simple.
This time was different. The audience he was requesting was... different.
It was a letter delivered outside the regular postage, the simple note instead sent via bird. A Flicky had been sent to deposit a simple envelope without an address to the outside balcony of one Shade the Echidna's abode. The light tap of the beak against her window would signal for the recipient's attention, and upon being opened, a short message would be read:
'I wish for an honest conversation with you and request your appearance on Angel Island. Whenever most convenient, toss the enclosed ring to your front and step through to the other side.'
Indeed, the document would contain a golden Warp Ring. And if used as instructed, the lush visage of Angel Island would flash to greet the user instantaneously, their location changed in the blink of an eye. Deposited directly by the front of the island's prized Master Emerald shrine.
And there would its protector stand. A stout nod of acknowledgment administered soon thereafter. "...Shade."
@leechblades sent: " Did you need something? " / for omega !
Anyone that saw Omega might say, of all things, the Super Badnik was.. embarrassed. It was hard to read the weapon's body language, but claws click against one another for the briefest moment while he considered. It wasn't often he spoke with people he put any stake in their skill with outside of Shadow. Even rarer that it's not a competition like with say... Shadow.
"Affirmative. I was wishing to request..." A pause, wondering how best to word this. "Tips for if my weapon systems were to be malfunctioning in battle. You seem more experienced with that sort of combat and I would never humiliate myself to ask the fleshbags affiliated with the blue hedgehog."
@leechblades liked! / ava!
< if you don’t wanna be alone, > the rabbit signs, < i can stay with you. > Not that she has any idea just who this stranger is, or even if she knows sign. But the other seems...tense. Afraid. Ava couldn’t very well just leave, could she? Even if the sign isn’t understood, she hopes that the way she sits beside her makes the offer, too.
@leechblades asked: " I had no idea you lived in a castle ... " The echidna looks curious as they walked through the walls of former Castle Acorn. The, uh.. decoration choice for this place was rather... interesting. Her eyes scan the walls out of habit, taking note of any potential ins and outs. " .. Do you live here by yourself, Fiona? " / it begins.
Fiona is more than happy to give Shade the tour of the Castle, though she's already regretting that more wasn't done to arrange their loot in a more orderly fashion before this guest arrived. "Oh, no, I've got my boyfriend, plus the rest of the Destructix, and we almost always have a guest or two over...."
The fox snaps her fingers, realizing something. "Oh, right! I haven't introduced you to Scourge yet, have I? I think you'll like him. He's a bit of a goof sometimes, but he's been dying for someone to spar with... in fact, chance are he's probably training in the gym he set up if you wanna meet him."
Surely this will go well.
He's just standing there... menacingly.
“Umf” very quiet but said, nonetheless.
✧ Send me “Umf” If your muse thinks my muse is hot ✧
"H-Huh...?"
Oh, that had caught him completely off guard. Almost not catching it with how soft Shade had been — he was use to how soft she could sound at times. Having learned to catch any small sounds or such from the other.
This one...well, it made his cheeks heat up in surprise.
