Shree Krishna gives his protection to the 16100 maidens
So we all know the fact that Shree Krishna has 16108 consorts. But let's all sit and understand why and what is meant by this. Sadly some people make inappropriate jokes about this, forgetting that it's a divine personality we're talking about. However let's all understand.
Prabhu Shree Krishna's leelas have a significance, and it contributes to the sustaining of Dharma.
Just to get this out of the way, the 8 of the 16108 consorts are his prime consort, known as the Ashtabharyas. They're forms of Devi Lakshmi. Also due to their devotion, love and deep yearning for Sri Bhagwan, they got the place of being Krishna consort.
Narakasura had kidnapped 16100 women and forced them to marry him. But then he was soon slain and defeated by Satyabhama and Shree Krishna.
After they saved them, the women were feeling embarrassed. They felt like people would judge them in society,even though they as well as Shree Krishna and Satyabama know it was all because of Narakasura's atrocity. Keep in mind, our human thinking is imperfect. Our thoughts depend of different modes (sattwa, rajas and tamas).
So to save them from the judging society, Shree Krishna decides to make them his consorts. And the women on the other side were already devoted to Him, and only wanted Him. Jai Manohar, Murlidhara Bhagwan.
No one would dare to insult and try to defame them because, Shree Krishna is their Swami.
Same way with us bhakto, Prabhu will always protect us. We're already in his Shaaran.
Shaaran and Samarpan, is like doing a subject or sport. You're in that class/club, and you're engaged in it. But to reach your goal, you must put in your all.
We're all in our Aradhya's shaaran, but if we think of Sri Bhagwan practice seva, practice Dharma and offer our heartfelt bhakti to him, we'll become one with that Supersoul.
