Parker knew well he didn’t always acquire the most eloquent countenance. Majority of the times, his colleagues and the world that knew him described him to have a permanently fixed inscrutable physiognomy. It was in his nature to not wear his heart on his sleeve. Sometimes it would come back around and bite him in the ass and this so happens to be one of those times. Honestly, he was afraid. He’s not one to take the reins on quests like this. He had come to Hongdae to invest further in a case and decided it was smart to get a cup of coffee which had live music and bands built in it. The rather flirtatious barista thought it would be a grand idea to insert his name to perform on stage next. The only thing he could play was a guitar and that was during his high school years. When hearing the stranger female offer a phrase that sound rather philosophical, the corner of his lip twitched.
“You could say that reaching the stage of fear requires accepting the unknown.” His arms naturally folded across his chest, turning his head so he could get a glimpse of the female. “What are we doing if not taking a chance? We’re being cowards in life. However, miss, I am very much afraid. Don’t allow my bland façade fool you. It’s just… I don’t do well with art. I’m not mold to entertain others. I’m afraid to make a fool of myself.”
No surprise to find Hyeonu at one of the local coffee shops in the city. It was a good way to get away from the hustle and bustle of her every day life. She sat at the bar this time around, the place being a little too crowded for her liking but that was nothing to complain about. There were no papers scattered about or her laptop in front of her, just her latte she ordered and her phone for small things. The conversation was overheard and although it wasn’t her business, she made it her business with that slip of the statement. “Well this isn’t something that is super important, but living life in fear is useless. Everyone in here is just like you, even that band up there is honestly but no one’s complaining. I think they’d be happy to see a new face and this is coming from someone who excel in that field.” After taking a sip of her coffee she sat her phone down that occupied her hand before cheek was rested in her palm subsequent to her arm being propped on the bar. “But if you’re afraid and also afraid to make a fool of yourself, let’s not ruin whatever confidence you have, hm?” Final words were directed to the bartender, in which, she caught the drift and took her leave with no hard feelings on her expression.
