I knew I would definitely re-read, just not right away. I was captivated the first that the scenes were like a vivid movie in my head. It is rather hard to explain but the authenticity of this book is just beguiling. You read the book and you are so deeply captivated that when you are finished, you are just dazed, in the most wonderful way possible. 🌟The way Summer loved Bess was truly sweet. And their connection, well, I understand why Grace was bitter. Fauxmance is just entertaining but even I failed to see where the lines were in this once. And during that film making, my God, Summer's conflicts were just so down-earth. I loved her even more. And the way she didn't take shit from anyone and used her adorableness to charm "others" was so brilliant. Like yes Queen, use your power. 🌟I am gonna say, they both broke character and it was tremendous. And I loved this scene; “Gosh, I love what you’re wearing,” she told the woman [...] “Who’s the designer?” “Me.” The woman beamed. “I love you already. Yes, Catherine and Lauren slayed. Lauren's family was amazing, except that brother that kept getting in Catherine's beautiful face. I was so happy when Lauren finally said enough is enough. Because Catherine was definitely not "ice queening" in those moments. Catherine's father and mother, god forbid… just bad people. 🌟What I really want to talk about and appreciated the most was Michelle's character. I don't know what I really want but I know I crave something about this character. In book 1, I was just mad at her but in book 2, esp after that scene with Lauren in chapter 32. And also in the ending when Lauren told Catherine about her talk with Michelle. It has to be incredibly dehumanising to destroy someone you love. Like just thinking about being in either's shoes, makes me really sick. I have this ridiculous notion of not wanting to hurt people, so if I was Michelle, I would be literally destroyed. 🌟In the latest newsletter from Lee, it says there will be a short story on Michelle's character, I hope. I want it to be tremendous, marvellous, magnificent, entertaining, groundbreaking, enthralling, emotional devastation, I want to be sick to my stomach, I want to be satisfied mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The expectations that I developed after reading that chapter, just crazy. I still want that though. I want to know what happened before, during, after and the future. I WANT IT ALL, PLEASE LORD.
