And fucking God, was this good. I loved every moment, I hang onto every word and it was just so entertaining and fabulous. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟You know that feeling you get after you've finished reading a book and you feel this blissful feeling hugging your soul. Well, That's how I feel right now. Roslyn Sinclair's The Lily and The Crown is a total recommendation. Holy damn. wow. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟 Let's talk about taming The Beast because Ari loved Mir so well and softly, it was just beautiful. She didn't tame the beast but she still did. And the there is thawing The Ice Queen, Mir classed that so fucking well, I was literally quivering the first time i read this book. Mir was still remained icey until the end but with a softer edge because she loved Ari so. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟 I usually don't talk about sex scenes and that's mainly because I rarely read sex scenes (unless if I am reading erotica). The first love?? no.. sex scene… it was absolutely well written. That moment when Assistant realised that Ari had feelings for her… beautiful. The scene when Ari gave herself to Assistent, fucking magnificent. The scene when Mir told Ari not to ask her to let her go, arghhhh, I was on the floor. There is a history between me and this book. I first read it in 2018 and let me tell you, my 20-year-old self was not moved. I felt like I didn't understand the events that happened in the book. So I read it again when I was 23, by this time, I had this insane love for ice queens but still, my mind was not there yet. Now this year, my soon-to-be 25-year-old self is so impressed by this masterpiece, I shudder in shame at my prior reactions. Over the years, I have developed this crazy love for ice queens and I am a diehard fan of age-gap romance with a celebrity touch to it, so you can imagine my acquired bliss when my heart and mind finally resonated with joy after finishing this book. What confused me was that shit with Richard because I couldn't contemplate Elena's ignorance. And let me tell you when I wholeheartedly paid extra attention to her POVs, well, my fucking heart shattered. My poor sweet woman. I wanted to understand something about that "ignorance" because.. well that's personal. 😫 Ps: That mirror scene had me weak in the knees. Like YESSSSS 🤤🤤🤤😏😫👌🏾🔥 And all those French words had me simping 😫😫🤤🤤 Pss: Now, I need to do the same thing with "Requiem for Immortals" which I also read in 2018, I was having a "Ylva Marathon". My issue with RFI was I couldn't visualise the scenes and that usually reduces the book's impact on me. I need to see every scene I read and play it out in my head, so I can gasp or swoon, whichever. Psss: I would die for a novella or better yet a full novel on Véronique Duchamp. The name is so powerful. There is no way in fuck she is straight. You know, I shouldn't be surprised because The Lily And The Crown and The X Ingredient were no joke either, mostly the latter... but this one... it.. it.. my god. Anyways, Vivan doesn't like crude ppl so I will keep my nasty business to myself but the things these two books did to me... my psyche 🤤🤤🤤🤤 my ovaries... sheeesh 🤤🤤🤤🤤 95 highlights in Book 2, it was building the relationship... I knew I would definitely re-read, just not right away. I was captivated the first that the scenes were like a vivid movie in my head. It is rather hard to explain but the authenticity of this book is just beguiling. You read the book and you are so deeply captivated that when you are finished, you are just dazed, in the most wonderful way possible. ⁠ ⁠ 🌟The way Summer loved Bess was truly sweet. And their connection, well, I understand why Grace was bitter. Fauxmance is just entertaining but even I failed to see where the lines were in this once. And during that film making, my God, Summer's conflicts were just so down-earth. I loved her even more. And the way she didn't take shit from anyone and used her adorableness to charm "others" was so brilliant. Like yes Queen, use your power. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟I am gonna say, they both broke character and it was tremendous. The first 1% I read half of the synopsis and the other 1%, I don't read it all because even that will be a spoiler. This book, I read the synopsis, 3 times to be exact and it was still nothing like how thought it was going to be. Not wholly in a bad way, of course. I loved the time jumping, I usually enjoy such stories. ⁠ ⁠ 🌟 I dunno if I should call them twists or unexpected-turn of events but kinda like that. Nikki ending up with Maggie, and the actual age-gap to have happened in the 60s and not the present, now that had me howling coz I didn't see that coming. And then Maggie, impulsive, yes, to me, or like stubborn. Don't even get me started on Lea, coz she was just bad.
