there’s a post somewhere out there that says something along the lines of purgatory being first and foremost a cage for the leviathan, and that monsters are sent there after death mainly to keep the leviathan busy. like, monster heaven isn’t even monster heaven! they’re just...divine afterthoughts, unprotected and unclaimed by both heaven and hell. it’s like when the alpha said, ‘when your kind first huddled around the fire, i was the thing in the dark’: monsterhood has always been a life in the cold, outside the reaches of the fire, and that that celestial indifference extends to their afterlife is sadly fitting, i guess.
