My AU is one where, instead of Padme dying in childbirth, she’s sent into a medically induced coma, where she remains for about two weeks, until Palpatine learns about her survival.
After learning this information, he seeks out the facility where she is being hidden, taking her off the life support system and essentially waking her up, but only for long enough to tell her everything that Anakin has done, not leaving out a single detail, and then placing her in a cryostasis for the remainder of the original trilogy. She’s kept this way as a sort of sick trophy, until Palpatine is killed, and the information about her is forcibly taken from his mind by Anakin/ Vader.
She found after the death of Anakin/ Vader by Luke and Leia, and released from her prison, after which she assists the twins in attempting to rebuild a semblance of peace.
