Giveaway 57: Summer Camp. 6x6" shadow box, yours for the asking. (This one won’t ship well - you’ll have to pick it up in Chaplin CT) . I know I promised a more thorough update in my last post — suffice it to say, for now, that there are several major upheavals in the works right now and it’s all too much to explain in a short post. But here’s a bit about one of them: the last thing I want to do during these Covid times is to travel, and yet I’ve been busy planning a trip. My brother, my nephew, and I will be making a 24-hour road trip to Florida to see our father, whose longtime partner recently died, and help facilitate his move from independent to assisted living. We’ll be packing up thousands of pounds of mostly paper - the detritus of a big photography career, and working out what is to become of this legacy. My art giveaway is in part in anticipation of this monumental chore. This will be a labor of love, and I’m happy to do it. But I don’t want to leave anything of its sort behind when my time comes. Life is now. . PS - this assemblage includes a medal I won at Camp Fernwood, which I attended on a scholarship the summer I was 14. I learned archery there, and once shot six arrows in a row into the bullseye. The key was to fully relax, breathe deep, exhale, and hold steady. May your focus be as true, your target clear, and your aim true, in whatever you do. . . . #legacy #legacyart #memorykeeping #memorybox #assemblageart #assemblageartist #assemblage #shadowbox #shadowboxart #frog #archery #summercamp #campfernwood #fernwood #upcycle #detritus #artfromtrash #focus https://www.instagram.com/p/CKJoibfHdXQ/?igshid=1pooks80cccuh
