As Rob pulled up to the address Agent Fowler provided, he let out a deep and tired sigh before turning his attention to Dennis and smiling at him to quell the anxiety he could feel rolling off the teenager. His poor boy almost looked a trembling chihuahua in the passenger seat, despite his best efforts to return the smile and act like everything was alright, but Rob wouldn’t comment on it and allowed Dennis to have his peace. Life was terrifying and stressful enough as it currently was for the two of them, so the last thing Rob wanted to do was cause his son more undue stress. “Are you ready?” He asked in a gentle tone. When Dennis nodded stiffly, Rob reached out to rest his hand on top of Dennis’ shoulder. “You can sit in the car for a minute if you want while I pop in to let Agent Fowler know we’re here.”
“No, I’m okay.” Dennis took in a deep breath and didn’t release it until after he unlatched his seat belt. Rob was perturbed by the behavior but didn’t say anything about it as he moved to do the same, exiting the sedan then moving to the front of it where he waited for Dennis to join him. With his son at his side, Rob marched up to the building and headed inside, peering around the interior for any sign of direction or Fowler.
