An Obvious Secret

Mina wants a wedding. As silly as she knows it is, she wants one. However with the way things are now, she doesn’t think it should happen. The Resistance or the Government would target it and turn it into a mess. She doesn’t have faith in their force to protect the venue. If she can’t have it her way then she doesn’t want to do it at all.

A Secret Hope

She wants her children to take after their father. Mina knows from experience how much harder it is for an Original who can’t fight. If the twins have surging as a specialty it will already place them in front of their peers with more passive abilities.

Secret Dream

Mina wants out of New York. She’s always hated the city and everything that has happened there just makes her hate it even more. Even another city in north America would be better than New York, but this was the place chosen by Vincent to build their empire. Even her efforts to try and make it more comfortable haven’t done much. She wants away and will leave at the first opportunity. 

Something No One Knows

Mina is terrified of ending up like her mother. She had obviously not met her prior to her relationship with her father but those who knew her have said that finding her mate completely changed Mina’s mother. It ruined her life. Although Mina knows that Vincent is nothing like her father relationships between mates rarely lasted forever and maybe there was a reason for that. 

Guilty Desire

When she first arrived in New York she felt much closer to the humans and Second Gen living with her at the Viceroy than most of the Originals. While her own kind gave her the cold shoulder there were many others that were more than willing to get to know her.

A Secret Dream/Ambition/Hope

Mina would like to see their clan’s influence extended beyond North America. She is convinced with the help of the Shubure that they would be able to take over more territory. War is the last thing she would like to see at any point among their people. However, there are other ways of expansion that she has already begun to work toward.

♀ for a mother headcanon

Nick remembers his birth mother, Nammu, as being aloof to the point of coldness. She didn’t believe in physical affection and shied away from touch even with her children. But she had her rules for the family, foremost being: we take care of what’s ours. Her rules are what helped him survive after his family’s death and he still adheres to most of them. 

He’s positive that Nammu and and Scarlett would’ve hated each other at first sight and that, oddly, made it easier to accept his adoptive mother.

Nick occasionally jokes that knowing Damon makes him happy to be an only child. The truth is, while he’d never admit it, Damon is like a brother to him and it’s a bittersweet feeling. There’s no one Nick trusts more but being in the room with Damon and Vincent, makes him wonder what it’d be like to have family of his own again.

Nick’s intrigued by the enhanced humans, though he hasn’t pursued that interest too far yet. He honestly thought after he saved the Holmes siblings the first time that Jacob’s loyalty was secure. It’s a mistake Nick doesn’t intend to repeat and if he has the chance to get into Jacob’s head in the future, he’ll undoubtedly take it.

A Guilty Desire 

Mina very much wanted to continued to see Jack even after learning about her pregnancy but worried about the stress that would put on all her relationships. She wanted both Jack and Vincent at the same time, but knew that would end very badly even if by some miraculous chance she managed to talk them into it.

A person that knows all her secrets

Long before she told anyone else she confessed to Jack that she was not everything she appeared to be. Mina told him a few times that perhaps she wasn’t as innocent as she led people to believe, but he would have laugh it off. She wanted him to understand but quickly realized that maybe he already had come to terms with her more manipulative side or would never accept that side of her.

A Secret Fear

Mina’s afraid that everyone else is right about her. Maybe she is too young to take on this responsibility of being queen. Maybe this is too much considering her inexperience with the real world. Maybe she’s not to be trusted. Although she tries to ignore Damon’s criticisms some of them hit pretty close to home even though she’d die before letting it show.

Brother Headcanon

When their clan learned about the death of his parents in battle, the first thing Vincent worried about was his brother. He’d seen so many families torn apart because of all the warring going on but he refused to let that happen to his family. Their sister was old enough to remember but he knew that Damon’s memories of their parents would never be enough. A lot of his drive to bring their clan back together and make them bigger and stronger than they ever had been was out of a need to ensure that Damon would always have a family.

Old Best Friend Headcanon

Vincent only ever kept his brother and sister truly close to him. He lost both of them at the same time when the council ordered the death of the Hybrids. 

Government Agent Headcanon

Because Vincent was one of the people that helped get the FMID off the ground, he was originally close with the other founding agents and scientists. In the beginning the agents jobs were much different than today’s and most of them actually just worked in the lab. One in particular he enjoyed toying with. Daniel Salvage was there for one purpose, to win wars and keep the American people safe. While Vincent could admire the qualities, it was still humans he was talking about and there were many times Vincent messed with the man’s mind. He shared memories of things from thousands of years ago with him, Daniel not knowing what was being done. Eventually he went mad, believing that he’d developed his own power and the government had no choice but to lock him away.

Self Headcanon

Before he became a Second Generation Ryan was much more confident in himself. Finding out that he wasn’t human and adopted really knocked him on his ass. Now that he tries to maintain his humanity while fighting in this war. Lately he feels that his actions against Payton in particular may have pushed him over the edge into dark territory. He never wanted to hurt another Second Generation (minus Alex because he is the Originals representative) and it will haunt him for a very long time.

Brother Headcanon

Ryan has two older brothers. He is the youngest of four and the others would say he was their mother’s favorite, so that’s why he got so much shit from his brothers growing up. They were rough with each other but when one of the group was threatened they’d all stick together. The oldest, Bobby, was a cop in New Jersey. He is married and they have two little girls. Kevin was the closest in age to Ryan and also the most different. He was a surgeon in NYC and the only member of their immediate family that didn’t go into law enforcement. After Katelyn went missing Ryan told them all to gather at their parents farm upstate. Going to set up for the wedding he wasn’t sure how many members of his family had survived but when both of his brothers met him and April at the end of the road he was overwhelmed to see them.

Ex Headcanon

Ryan has had a few interesting exs. His mother has hated all of them, but to be fair a lot of them were pretty insane. One, set his clothes on fire once when he was away because she assumed he was cheating. Another got really drunk at a wedding and hit on his brother in front of his wife, that didn’t end well. Ryan has always been a pretty easy going guy until he gets mad and his girlfriends have all been about the same way.
