Watching Legend of Kora for the first time! [SPOILERS Seasons 1-2]

I have some thoughts on Bolin:

He is my favorite character

I rarely see such lovable “macho-man lady-killers’ in media and most of his jokes hit

His relationship with Kora was so pure </3

The only confusing thing about his character was when he finally got Ginger as a gf and then left to save the world in the south. He met up with his abusive ex and proclaimed his love for her out of nowhere. Then after kissing and deciding to be together they were immediately like, “nah that was just how we felt in the moment”. Don’t get me wrong, I love crazy evil Eska but she was super abusive to him. If they were written differently they could have had a really nice Andy/April relationship.

So I guess he and his bro both cheated on their gfs. Why they do this? T.T

I hope to see more of him in the future, no major character problems stand out to me.

I have some thoughts on Asami:

She doesn’t have any noticeable personality flaws- yet I still love this perfect bean

Did I mention she’s just such a wonderful, pretty lady?

She doesn’t really do anything for the plot. Kinda just stands in the background most of the time. Poor girl.

She literally only has bad things happen to her, idk why she isn’t a big mess. She opens her heart to Mako ->cheated on... Her papa goes to jail... Mako and Kora breaks up so once again poor princess wants Mako back ->cheated on by Mako x2. He doesn’t even apologize RIP

Do we ever see her cry after all this torture? Nah she kind of just stands there all the time #badwriting

She actually decides to carry on her father’s business creating weapons of mass destruction?? Girl you love cars/vehicles whey don’t you just build those? I am really surprised she seems fine building these steampunk tank bois and fighter aircraft. Maybe I missed something.

The biggest issue: I thought she felt really out of place in season 1 and expected her to have her own story in season 2. Unfortunately she still doesn’t feel like part of the gang and her subplot hardly sees any screen time. She holds no grudge on her ex and doesn’t seem to be close friends with Kora or Bolin. So why is she even with the group?

I hope in the future seasons she actually builds some relationships with the gang (other than Mako). I hope she gets some things to do. She doesn’t have to be a fighter but at least give the girl more than a couple lines to say.
