You know, one concept I always love is mysterious dream visions that are meant to tell the person getting them what they need to find/get their hands on to achieve their goal.

Like, say, Emmet having a dream of Ingo in a deep sleep with a weird rock embedded in the palm of his hand, then seeing the rock locked in a wooden box with a weird symbol on the front of it. (And the unexplained felling that this is really important and he needs to remember it.)

Y'all, this has been on my& Legends Acreus-invaded mind for too long 😭 and I& haven't seen anyone else notice this or bring it up, so I'm& going to break the ice.

So, yk how the noble Pokémon must be fought to progress? And if you lose all your hit points, the screen goes black and you're quietly given the option to try again?

Well, you can rematch the nobles in the postgame and if you lose all your hit points then, you're taken to a cutscene where the noble's warden says things among the lines of, "are you okay? This noble is very strong, but do you want to try again?"

And y'all 😭

Idk if maybe this was obvious to everyone else, but one day I& suddenly realized: the reason there are no cutscenes after you lose your hit points in the story-driven noble battles is because the game is very subtly and very heavily implying you DIE if you don't beat a noble battle first try 😭 Well, there goes "kids" game

And I& mean, it realistically makes sense that you die, but jfc, the realization hit me& like a brick xD. And I& remember, at one point, just before fighting Electrode for the first time, Melli says, "keep moving or you're sure to be dead!" And like 😭 I& honestly thought he was joking until it clicked that he was entirely serious 😭

No, but it would be kinda interesting to see how a Pokémon game made strictly for adults would therorically turn out 😳

Like you know how they actually had to remove the arcade when remaking games because it "simulated gambling" (despite the Pokémon company literally making trading cards which encourages gambling in real life btw shh 🤫) and would force the games to become mature rated? That got me thinking how gamefreak has kinda been dancing around the pg rating lmao.

Like in Sun and Moon, your friend's neglectful mother who drove both her children to run away becomes fused with a jellyfish-like parasite from another dimension that sucks on its host until they become dependent on it, all the while obsessing over her dead husband 😭

Or in Legends Acreus, you get literally evicted from your village in the middle of the night because god dropped you from the sky and now two deities are pissed. And ancestoral Cynthia is working with the Pokémon equivalent of the devil...

Like, what the heck kind of "for kids" is this?? 😭 If this is for kids, what would an adult-targeted Pokémon game look like? 😳 If Cyrus can directly state how he wants to destroy the multiverse, become god or enslave it, and make a new timeline where he reigns his own planet... I'm& very interested what the heck kind of game gamefreak would make for adults if given the chance hehe

That being said, I& must say it's pretty interesting how Legends Acreus is handled. Like, a general rule of thumb is however old protagonist is, is how old the target audience is. And in most (if not all) Pokémon games, the protagonist's age is vaguely 10, but in Legends Acreus, they directly tell you that you're 15 at the start of game.

Probably because it's more... Morally questionable for a 10yo to be kicked out and left for dead than a 15yo to be kicked out and left for dead lmao. So, following that rule of thumb I& just mentioned, the target audience is aged up quite a bit and it's pretty interesting.

I& once heard someone say "Steven Universe isn't a kids show. It's an adult show... APPROPRIATE for kids." And I& really think that applies to pla too 0w0. Because look, at the end of the day...Pokemon is directed at children, but jfc, the mature sides of Pokémon games lowkey slap lmaoo
