Listen, listen, listen - it’s been talked about at length in this fandom, but I legitimately cannot get over the fact that Jaskier, at the ripe old age of eighteen years old, had all of one conversation with Geralt before he was like, “yup, you are good, and I’m gonna dedicate my life to writing songs about your exploits so that I may improve your reputation with the public.”
I mean??? What??? Whomst??? How???
And yeah you could argue that Jaskier was in it for the fame at first, but I would turn right back and say nah. I’d say Jaskier was invested in Geralt as a person right away, because where everyone in that tavern booed and jeered and chucked food at him, Geralt gave Jaskier his last coin. That’s all someone as perceptive and as good with people as Jaskier needs to know about a person. And Jaskier knew Geralt was a good man, and he was ready to commit the rest of his life to singing about how good of a man Geralt is, so that everyone else might know it too.
