It is with a heavy heart, I learned today, my sweet friend @RumpelDoll has had his hard work stolen by thieves. I’ve watched his beautiful works of art take shape for over a year now, and felt so lucky and blessed to be able to bring home my own Morfeo and Abaddon from his hands. I know how much of himself he put into these dolls. There are many things I’d like to say to the people who stole his art and to the people who feel entitled to own that stolen recasted work. I’m going to limit my tirade though to just this: Buying recasts hurts our artists. Whether it’s a “big” company or small, the recasters don’t care, they’ll take your money and steal more dolls. To you it’s just a doll, a thing, to the artist, it’s their livelihood. And I’m not saying any of this to sway the diehard recast buyers out there, I wouldn’t waste my time. I’m saying this so the new people in the hobby, the people who don’t understand why we’re so upset, I’m saying this so they’ll understand why we are so sad about the recast epidemic in our community. My first Iplehouse doll, he’s a Bull Terrier from their Pet Doll line and I am so enchanted, what lovely sculpting, his sweet face is so cute and expressive. Thank you very much to @makemereal.dolls for sending this little cutie to me, he’s wonderful! 💖💖💖 His name was Hank from the first moment I pulled him out of his bubble wrap and it doesn’t seem to be changing so Hank it is! 😊💕 He came with some pretty brown eyes but I put these pink/purple taxidermy eyes in him and I think they suit his painting very nice. Another doll that arrived recently but I realize I’ve only shown in my story. She’s a version 1 Pieta in pink normal resin. Unfortunately it wasn’t a happy box opening and I had to set her aside for a while until I could get over my disappointment. Her Ingenieuse hands had two broken fingers, the breaks were more like crushing so not any sort of easy or simple fix. Ingenieuse hands were limited and no longer made, they are also my most favorite Twigling hands so I found it quite upsetting. She fortunately came with the relaxed pose hands as well though so at least she has those. All that aside however I am so extremely happy to have this doll, she is my second Pieta but as you can see the V1 and V2 are quite different. And while they are both extremely lovely sculpts, the V1 was what I had more in mind with Enderica’s character, that and the lighter skin tone and I at last feel this character is home! Which is indeed a happy feeling! Another surprise dolly greeted me when I came home from work today. Not a surprise in that I didn’t know she was coming but as in tracking says she’s still in Spain, oops! 😂 I’m certainly okay with this alright though! So this a Supia Doll Haeun and I’ve put her on one of my Feeple60 Moe bodies, a very lovely hybrid she makes too! I’m finding her utterly enchanting and instantly inspiring.
