a/n: had this in my drafts for a while, I think we all need a cute little break rn
The six girls huddled on the floor, a peaceful ambiance filling the room. There were plants that felt homey, lilac purple curtains preventing too much sunlight from entering, black futon couches angled on each side, a flat rug on the floor to complete the look.
It felt safe, somewhere that screamed comfort.
You had 7 different Lego sets presented in front of them, a deck of questions on cards in your hands. The warm smile gracing your lips made the girls feel ever so welcomed.
“Before the cameras start rolling, I want to say that my bame is Y/N and it’s a lovely pleasure to meet you all.” You greeted, shaking their soft hands individually down the line.
“It’s an honor.” Megan said first.
“Truly, we watch your interviews all the time, dreaming we’d be here and now we are.” Sophia chuckled, adding on.
You smiled wider. “Then you’re right where you want to be.”
Soon the cameras started rolling and you did what you did best.
“Welcome back to Lego Therapy. I’m your host, Y/N, and today I’m joined by six wonderful girls who make up the sensational, uprising girl group, Katseye. Please welcome Sophia, Megan, Manon, Lara, Daniela, and Yoonchae.”
The camera panned to each of them, smiles and giggles being swept up in the mix.
“So, as you know, the whole point of Lego Therapy is for all of us to relax, build some amazing Lego sets that I picked out for us, and then answer questions. Sound good?” Your soft voice lured them in, dripping like honey from your tongue.
“Perfect.”
“Can’t wait!”
You clapped your hands together. “So, I’ll let you all choose your own sets, of course. Today we have the brand new Snoopy Doghouse from The Peanuts, Eevee from Pokémon, a Sunflower bouquet set, the Love Birds set, Lucky and Penny from 101 Dalmatians, and finally the Krusty Burger set from The Simpsons.” You finished in one breath. “Who wants to pick first?”
The girls look to Yoonchae who wore a smug grin. “Maknae chooses first.”
“She’s been milking that since forever.” Manon playfully rolled her eyes.
Yoonchae crawled forward, immediately grabbing the Peanuts set.
“Good choice.” You complimented.
“Thank you.” She nodded solemnly, like it was a serious duty. “I love Snoopy.”
Sophia laughs. “How about youngest to oldest, yeah? Megan, you’re next.”
“Oh you know I want Eevee.” Megan grabbed the box with confidence, smiling like a cute nerd the entire time.
Once everyone had picked their favorite set, you were left with the sunflower bouquet. You say cross-legged, directly opposite from the girls and opened your box, pouring the bags and instructions out just like they did.
You grabbed the questions and cleared your throat. “My first question for you all is if you could live in any Lego world, whether that’s a movie or show or set itself, which would it be?”
“Lego Ninjago!” Daniela and Megan yelled at the same time.
“You get to ride dragons!” The Latina furthered on.
You giggled uncontrollably. “I absolutely adore that answer.”
“I think Yoonchae and I would say Lego Batman because we watch it all the time and we memorized almost every line from it.” Lara pointed out.
Sophia hummed, “I kinda like the Lego Friends sets. Maybe that’s where I’d go.”
“How about you, Manon?” You turned to the girl curiously.
She thought about it. “I gotta go with a classic: The Lego Movie. Everytbing about it was amazing and funny and overall really cool. I like the dynamic between the Lego world and the real world, it’s trippy but also dope.”
“Spectacular.”
More questions came, they delivered wonderful answers all while building their Legos. They looked at peace, felt safer and your warm voice furthered that feeling inside their fluttering hearts. You had offered water and snacks, doing your research on what they liked to prepare a beautiful basket designated for them, as well.
Lara finished her Dalmatian set first—a proud look in her eyes. “This is so much fun, oh my goodness.”
“Lara, come help with mine.” Daniela called her over since the Krusty Burger set took the longest.
“I have a question.” Megan asked, glancing up at you.
You placed your sunflower bouquet in a little vase, folded your hands in your lap and faced the Chinese girl. “Yes?”
“Do we get to take these home with us? The Legos, I mean.”
The girls’ hopeful faces turned to you.
“Of course you do. I pick them out especially for you to build and keep for your own display.”
“YES!” They cheered excitedly.
By the end of the interview, you had six girls hugging you like you personally saved them. The cameras cut, directors and producers murmuring amongst themselves.
Manon nudged your arm, “Thank you for inviting us. We’ve honestly been so stressed lately and this interview didn’t feel like an interview at all.”
“That’s the best kind.” You smiled.
Daniela grinned too, dimples showing. “This was a nice little break that we needed. And now I have a Lego set to display in my room.”
You shared a chuckle with the Latina. Your hands gently passed over theirs in a comforting way. “Thank you for joining me.
“I really hope we can do this again.” Megan pouted slightly.
You winked. “I’ll fight for that.”
