Swooshable World!

I’m excited about this, just posted over on Flickr:

Hey people! I bring happy news today: the newest Swooshable project is done! Ever wondered how to find LEGO stores close to you? Or how about the next awesome events? Or maybe the ultimate LEGO User Group?

Hah! Easy peasy, with the new Swooshable World! Adam (that fine Repoort-gentleman who moderate this group) and I have been busy putting all of these things ON A MAP! A stroke of genius? Perhaps. All we know is that it makes it pretty darn easy to find things close to you.

We really hope to make this a good, lasting resource. Right now we’ve got close to 200 locations indexed, but we know there are more. Help us by adding them to the site or by pointing out errors in the comments! Either here or directly on the site is fine.

As always, if you like this project it’s not a bad idea to sign up to the Swooshable mailing list to quickly find out when new apps are out. Let us know how you like this one and how we can make it better!

BrickBuildr Updates

I got a message early this morning saying there’s will be a new LEGO store in the Miami area, based upon some information from a recent LEGO store flyer — looks like there will be new stores in Indianapolis, IN & Beachwood, OH as well. Looks like opening weekend for both stores will be April 8-10th; no word on LEGO’s web-site about the Sawgrass Mills store opening, at present. There’s also been rumors of a LEGO store opening in Toronto, Canada later this year, so I added a store placeholder to the database.

Decided it was also time to add PaB walls for Legoland Discovery Centers & LEGOLAND Parks world-wide. And figure it was time to do some cleanup work on the View iPaB Walls page — you’ll now see the list ordered by country name, added headers over each country section, and started displaying stores that were in the database, but were hidden because there was no PaB information. I’m hoping by displaying the store names, more people will come forward and provide BrickBuildr with more information.

The Past Few Months

I’m not going to go into details what’s been going on lately, let’s just say the last few months has been stressful since MegaCon.

I have some new store information that I’m hoping to add to the web-site later this week — the size of the Lille store in France. As well as some new parts showing up on the PaB walls world-wide.

I might have mentioned this before, but lately I’ve been playing around with Pinterest. I’ve set up a few LEGO related pin-boards: Random LEGO, LEGO Castle, LEGO Space, and My LEGO MOCs. I use it for inspiration & to show off my works of art… I find it easy to use & the image processing makes a nice collage of photos, that it’s got me thinking about redesigning BrickBuildr’s layout.
