Like holy shit, so I’m going to tackle this in two ways — sukuna with the retractable nails (which you can witness in episode five, look at his nails when he pulls his finger out of the special grade’s core, and then look at them again when he gets ready to fight Megumi, he actually lengthens his nails/claws). But being Sukuna’s lover when he has retractable nails (he has such a nice ass manicure when his claws are out... like so much so that I’m growing my nails so I can get them done in that shape and I bought some purple nail polish to match so I hope they look like his, but that is not the point), and he spots that you have a manicure like his ?? god, he lets out a little pleased growl that is a little borderline possessive because they look just like his. It’s a stroke to his ego as much as it is a way to claim you as his. it seems so silly, and at first, you think he keeps lifting them to see them so he can look at his reflection, but then he lets his nails out and rests your hand on top of his so he can see just how nice they look together. (he also knows they’ll look nice running over his skin, but that is not the point here.) imagine wearing those nails in a fight, and he gets to witness it. he loves it, loves to see the flicker of himself on you while handle business.
Now, model au! sukuna, BABY. Those nails are a signature during photoshoots, and he doesn’t fully understand why people like them, but whatever. They make him feel powerful. He’ll also wear them to movie premieres when he feels like making an appearance — and definitely to his brother’s movies. His nails are almost as significant as his tattoos or the rings he likes to constantly wear all over his hands. When he sees his girlfriend, he often shows up on the days of her presentations or debates, or mock trials. He will sit in the background with a visitor’s sticker, passing as a potential student, but all his eyes are on you... and those matching nails you work as you make your points, and argue flawlessly (it’s a reminder for him to never challenge your ability to win a verbal disagreement, even though he loves to get into them with you sometimes for the sake of amusement.) he likes the way you tap them on your arm, or press your fingers to your face. At the same time, you wait for the next turn. And when he doesn’t have his nails on, well, he loves to see them on you. He thinks they look better on you than him anyway.
