“I can’t stop now, Leia.”  He couldn’t-- he’d come so far.  He was a Jedi now, like his father before him.  And Luke knew something about lighting funeral pyres.  

“The Jedi texts I’ve found-- some of the things they’ve said, the rules the enforce.  I don’t believe-- I can’t believe that they were right.  

“They say that attachments are the path to the dark side; but every time I’ve been tempted it’s my attachments that have saved me. 

“If my choice is between having attachments and lighting my own pyre; or casting off attachments and living in darkness-- then I’ll light the way every time.

“Being alone never saved anyone.  It’s togetherness that will save us.”

STARTER || @leiader​

“Hey! Hey! Fingers out of the pot!” He said, gently nudging her aside to keep her from tasting their dinner too soon.  “What kind of manners are those for a princess, anyway?” He teased, throwing a handful of herbs in to stir together with the rest of the stew.  

The galley of the Falcon was cramped, as was most of the ship. A standard YT-1300 could hold double their amount of passengers; but considering the Falcon’s ... aftermarket modifications, things started getting a bit more cramped.  Luke however was still grateful that there were few enough of them that they could all have their own bunks (though it helped that Han and Leia bunked together-- to save space).

“Leia,” Queen Breha greeted her daughter as she stepped into the princess’ room. How many times had the queen walked into this room? Yet sometimes it still amazed her just how much her daughter had grown up, especially in the last few years.

“Are you almost ready, Starshine? Everyone is waiting for you in the dining room.”

MEET THE BB STARTER || @leiader

There were, of course, many things Luke had been looking forward to about Ben’s birth.  Many of them had not gone according to plan, but the most important things-- that he and Mara finally got to meet their son, and everyone was healthy and happy-- had still happened. This, now, was the next very important thing-- one of the things he’d been so looking forward to, outside of the immediate first priorities.  

It was time for Ben to meet his Aunt Leia.  

Luke held Ben in the crook of his arm, standing up as Leia came in.  “Mara’s resting still,” He said by way of explanation.  It had been -- dangerous, and draining, but he could feel her strength in the Force still.  The worst had passed. 

“Here he is,” He added, gently pulling the soft blanket down so Leia could get a better look at Ben’s face; his shock of red hair and chubby cheeks.  He was half asleep still, just awake enough to open blue eyes and yawn like a tiny o. 

“Leia, this is Ben. Ben Owen Skywalker.” Gently, Luke shifted him in his arms and nodded to Leia, holding Ben out lightly in an offer to let her take him.

 HEAVEN   WOULD   BURST   OPEN      with   the   love   she   holds   for   her   children   ------------   boundless,   eternal,   forged   from   heartstrings   and   hardships   both.   in   the   end,   all   of   it   was   worth   it;   to   hold   them   in   her   arms,   to   watch   them   grow   and   explore   and   become   their   own   people,   despite   the   urge   to   keep   them   just   like   this,   innocent   and   wide   eyed   and   untouched   by   grief.   it   always   passes,   though   she   knows   it   to   be   harder   for   anakin,   with   how   often   he   bemoans   the   way   the   twins   seem   to   grow   much   too   fast.   still.   no   use   to   dwell   on   that   which   cannot   be   controlled.   despite   everything   else   they   have   accomplished,   neither   she   nor   her   husband   can   halt   the   passage   of   time.

 attention   snaps   away   from   the   night   sky   when   small   fingers   snag   at   the   hem   of   her   dress,   demanding   as   always.   the   sudden   movement   scares   away   the   many   luminous   bugs   which   had   found   perch   onto   dark   hair,   swirling   away   like   shooting   stars.   one   fluid   movement   and   the   girl   is   gathered   to   her   chest,   peppering   kisses   across   cheeks   which   have   yet   to   lose   the   fullness   of   infancy.         “   i   bet   they   still   don’t   compare   to   how   brightly   you   shine,   my   starlight.   ”         foreheads   touch   and   lashes   flutter,   basking   in   the   moment   for   however   long   she’s   allowed.   or   rather,   until   leia   starts   squirming,   unwilling   to   remain   static   for   long.   yes,   whatever   pain   had   come   before   this,   it’s   all   worth   it.         “   have   i   ever   told   you   the   story   of   veré   and   set   ??   they   were   lovers,   you   see.   some   say   if   you   look   hard   enough   at   the   sky   when   the   night   is   clear,   you   can   see   them   smiling   back   at   you   .   .   .   ”

      SHARP  CLAWS  DIG  INTO    the   cold  ,   metallic    surface  :     feet   steadying    themselves  !          BLESS   THE   AGILITY  OF  THE  FELINE !      the   moment    could   be   described    as   a   ROUGH   RIDE ,      but  ,   LUCKILY ,   THE  CAT   DOES   NOT  MIND   THE   THRILL !     on   the  contrary ,    she   lives   for  it  !     and   the   brunette     PROVES   HERSELF   USEFUL   ------------   she   could    BET  A  DIAMOND  OR  TWO    that    the   woman    had    piloting     EMBEDDED   INTO   HER   CODE  !          LUCKY   THING   FOR  HER !    CRASH !    -------    their    rough    ride    comes   to   end  :     few    hisses   escape    behind    gritted    teeth .       and   for   a  moment  ,    they   are   still  .....   as  if   to   wait    something   else   to   follow  :     NOTHING   DOES   !       an   relieved   exhale  ,    ❝      whew  -----------    i    think    that   counts   as    LANDING   ON   OUR   FEET .    ❞

“I’m not your friend, I’m your brother which is far more important.”  The friend part, at least in this family as far as he was concerned, went without saying.  “And if you keep talking like that, I’m going to accuse you of sounding like Threepio.” He added, looping her arm over his shoulders to help her to her feet.  “Can you still hold a blaster?”

( she didn’t  like  masks  )       “  hopefully  we  won’t  have  to  make another  trip any time soon,  they  were  hidden  in  a  peaceful  village.”
