Do you have any art tips or yk, I really love your art and wish to draw like you one day (if that's okay, I hope I'm not sounding weird) I love how you draw the daycare attendants and was just wondering if you could give any tips, tuts or etc -!! And have an amazing day!!
Honestly, I don’t know how much help I can give ‘cause I do most things by vibes, and I’m not formally taught, so apologies if I’m not very good at explaining things.
But one of the main things I’ve done to achieve my style is just experimenting, and taking parts of the styles I like from other artists. (Which is why my art style is constantly changing haha.)
Some of my favourite artists that I especially admire is @/yuming_art @/sansan.sk @/gtsleep1200 (all on ig) and @/venomous-qwille.
I also try to like use as many colours as I can? Like shift the saturation, and hue wherever I can without it overwhelming the base colour. Oh, and I use the background colour to make everything cohesive by lowering the opacity of the base colours layer. Honestly, I just play around until it looks good.
I also try not to worry too much about making everything neat and detailed; rather, cleaning up and building more detail on the parts I want people to focus on like the face or hands. So I’ll let colours bleed into each other, or not worry too much about it being fully filled in and just let the background colour peak through. I tend to do a very rough sketch, then make a clean sketch over it with as little lines as I can; my sketch is my guide, all my details will be in the rendering. (I’m also not really a fan of doing line art)
Blend modes are your friends!!! I like to use multiply to help quickly establish shadows, and overlay to help adjust the colours.
If you want to see my process, you can find my speedpaints on my Instagram (@/sea_lemoons) in my highlights. It might give you a clearer idea how I render my pieces. It doesn’t have speedpaints of every piece, but if theres any specific pieces you’d like to see, just let me know and I can share those too.
Hopefully this helped a little, like most artists would probably say, just keep practicing. Practice anatomy, colours etc with stuff you like. At least that way you can enjoy it. That’s what I did.
