lemonscientist Brittany is like the coolest person i know. She’s beautiful, witty and writes the best smut you will EVER READ. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without her in my life and look forward to the day we meet face to face! my boyfriend and i brought home a pup about a month ago and the second night he had really bad diarrhea all over himself and his crate and chris gave him TWO baths and cleaned the crate all very quietly in order to let me sleep through the night for work. he also wrestles with him since our pup grew up with other dogs and that way I can study at night without him being all riled up. he's such a good dog dad!!!

Hannigram Author Interview with lemonscientist /captaineifersucht!

Fifth in the series.

1. What made you decide to start writing Hannigram fic?

I started to watch season 2 about halfway through. I had previously seen season 1, but lost interest. I got extremely into the fandom very rapidly and fell in love with all of the beautifully written fanfiction. At the time, I was in the last few weeks of the semester and very stressed out by organic chemistry. I found myself drawn to a lot of songs that reminded me of hannigram, and wanted to somehow convey the heartwrenching, sinister relationship between the two. Also--another reason to procrastinate.

Funnily enough, the first fic I started, I've yet to finish over a year later. I'm hesitant to say that I ever will.

2. Favorite AU setting? (That you’ve written or someone else has)?

For myself, I enjoyed the stripper!au that I wrote. It was fun to build the relationships within that universe.

Alternately, I think one of the first fics I read was Sympathy for the Devil by bluesyturtles. It hasn't updated in awhile, but I'm still head over heels for it ♥

3. Who is your favorite character to write other than Hannibal and Will and why?

Frederick Chilton, without question. I think he's a very vulnerable, fragile man, trying to hide his insecurities behind thick layers of snark. He makes my heart ache and my stomach hurt after too much laughing.

4. What kinds of fic do you like to read?

Terrible angst where they hurt one another to the point of breaking and then have filthy, kinky sex :)

5. Tell us something you are working on!

It's been awhile since I've touched hannigram, outside of drabbles, probably because I'm still suffering from season 2. However, I've been steadily churning out Will/Frederick ficlets, explored spacedogs, and am psyching myself up to write for another fandom (Kingsman). So right now--nothing big, just small bursts of writing when I can!

Always love a writer that delves into Chilton (my favorite other character to write!). A nice long slow-burn hannigram fic however is Never Let Me Go. (Rating: Explicit) Hannibal taking care of Will....very nice.

I am so glad you liked it.  This means a lot to me, seriously.  

There are a couple tracks on there that meant a lot to me too.  My faves were probably “From Now On,” “Do You,” and "Thunder Clatter”.  I really wanted to pull out the theme in lemonscientist’s fic of unexpectedly finding that person who fits in your life like a missing puzzle piece, of meeting someone new that you know in an instant is going to be a huge part of your life, even if you don’t know in what capacity that will be. The line “Do you wanna get understood?” (”Do You”) I think perfectly describes the fic as a whole.

And above all, I wanted it to end on a happy note.  So, “Geronmio” is like super my fave for this mix.  After everything they’ve been through, they are reunited in safety and poised to take that leap into the rest of their lives together without hesitation.

So also, thanks for giving me the chance to chat about why I chose certain songs.  I love doing that for my mixes.  :)
