There are tons of memes and challenges on the internet. Some are just plain stupid, not to mention dangerous (Hello, Tide Pod Challenge! I am looking at you), but every now and then there is one that is for a worthy cause. #LemonsForLeukemia is one such challenge.
It was started by two friends after one of them got diagnosed with Leukemia. For those who don’t know Leukemia is a type of blood cancer that starts in the bone marrow. One of the treatments is to have a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, finding a match is not easy, even more so for ethnic minorities as very few of us are on the bone marrow registry. Hence the goal of this campaign - to raise awareness for bone marrow registries. Check out the video, there are links in the video description on YouTube on how to participate or join the registry.
