just had some thoughts or whatever about that post about showing compassion towards men to stop them from going down the alt-right pipeline because i've been seeing a lot of different takes and it has me thinking.
me, i personally interpreted that post as like, we ought to exhibit compassion upfront instead of hostility to men as a group because they will be more easily drawn to a cause that will be compassionate towards them than hateful??
Obviously the fascists are like, gone, and should be shown what they deserve. I don't think we should be nice to fascists I think that's kind of obvious because well they are fascists.
I read the post as sort of looking at preventative measures because the initial post was about "how do we stop men from going down the alt-right pipeline" not "how do we convert fascists" or something.
like yeah that guy should look at the bigger picture and see that the anger against men is justified and that it isn't about him all the time. But maybe we should also be mindful of the rhetoric of hating men as a whole and stuff because like??? idk i fear it runs close to hating masculinity or whatever and isolates trans guys who, yk, are men.
idk maybe its the catholic leftovers in my head but i think it might be productive to show compassion instead of broadcasting hate sometimes. do no harm but take no shit type of thing.
