Every time I hear of some random reggaeton singer retiring or whatever because he "found Jesus," I can't help but think that these guys are horribly uncreative.

It's like a fanfic author quitting writing because they converted instead of just writing other types of fun stories.

But no, these guys just sing about fucking hoes and then getting fucked over by hoes, and rinse and repeat.

I just joined a WhatsApp group for PoGO, but everyone else is located in the Bahamas. And these guys seem to like calling themselves pirates. 😹

Instead of watching the proper sequel (RoboCop 2), I decided to watch the 2014 remake Instead. I was curious about how ≈30 years difference, in regards to cultural changes, would influence the story.

So far, there's things I think are good, like the ED-209's (chunky cuties) being partnered with android or soldier handlers. People from other countries having enough of military robots violating their freedoms and trying to fight back.

At the same time, this new movie lacked the bloody sarcasm and dry humor of the original. This is my problem with the new movie. Also could've had a touch more violence. (Sadly, being PG-13 did it a great disservice. RoboCop needs to be a dark film.)

But, I liked it as an AU; sort of "fix it" fic of the original movie. Where they just robbed poor Alex Murphy of his whole life.

Firstly, I can't believe they genderbent and racebent "Lewis." The original one was a white woman named "Anne Lewis." The new one is a black man named "Jack Lewis." But the new Murphy/Lewis have more chemistry with each other which rivals whatever Murphy has with his wife. (In the original one, the couple just seemed happy, but there wasn't much of a visible connection in the flashbacks.) So I guess they didn't want Murphy to seem like he has "two women." Anyway, my fellow mutuals know how I am. They should've been a polycule. There's plenty of RoboCop to share. Whether it be one cyborg man/two human women, or cyborg man/human woman/human man. ;3

Anyway, I like how they did try to make it seem in the new one that Murphy's wife didn't just abandon him. She was trying to fight to have him back home, even if he was just a head and some organs on life support. She fought for him until the end. Unfortunately, she was also pressured/tricked into consent into turning him into RoboCop. But somehow, the original "grave-robbing" made this all less creepy.

In this new one, they're treating him like a lab rat and messing with his brain. He was described as a "zombie." Not just that, but they're turning poor RoboCop into a political asset to be able to pass a pro-robot surveillance act. Somehow, this made it more of a plausible scenario. The company, OCP, was trying to manufacture his heroism and such.

Obviously, the problem was that they picked the wrong guy. They picked someone who was naturally heroic and wanted to get justice. Then, they gave him access to data and records, so he wanted to do his best and solve every crime. The problem was that the main crime that turned him into pieces of meat was that it was due to corruption within his own police department. So then, OCP and the police department fucked up more in trying to cover it up, to the point that they wanted to shut him down.

I loved all the scheming in it, but the movie is missing the spectacular violence. It sometimes felt like I was watching Michael Bay's Transformers films. And there was also not enough robots in it either. (RoboCop himself doesn't count. Then, the cute bipedal droids were just in a couple of scenes.) For some reason, Chuck Norris (I'm going to call him that), was being petty against RoboCop, calling him "Tin Man," and such. I just couldn't understand why he was a hater from the beginning. That was never explained. I'm going to assume that he was jealous of not being turned into RoboCop instead.

Then, there was the mad scientists -- Dr. Norton and Dr. Kim. No idea what their deal was either. They seemed like they were neutrally curious in wanting to see what their "robotic son" would do next that they were going back and forth between helping him and stopping him.

Finally, the one character I wasn't expecting to like. The reporter in the beginning named "Pat Novak," played by Samuel L. Jackson. He was not bald and was reminding me of being an evil!James Brown. He was just 100% OCP propaganda. They ruined him by bleeping out his cussing at the end. C'mon, we all wanted to hear him call the anti-OCP people, "motherfuckers."

Really didn't care for the CEO guy and his cronies. Dick Jones and "Old Man" from the first film were way better.

Anyway, I liked it. It just needed more edge. The first one was literally about poetic justice type revenge where he killed all his murderers symbolically. This one, he speedran through them, so I give it a 8.5/10.

The only professor that I am 100% sure banged the Pokémon protag's mom is Director Clavell of Scarlet and Violet, and the protag is his child. This man brought over his mistress and child from another region, after getting their visas straightened out once he was settled down as the Academy's Director.

I don't think Professor Sycamore banged the XY mom, but he was actively flirting with her.

Apparently, there's a subspecies of house mouse that went extinct because the human residents all moved out/evacuated an island.

I think about this every time pro-genocide/anti-human/"misanthropes" claim that nature will heal itself when "humanity" is taken out of the equation. Animals will go extinct as collateral damage since humans are also animals that are part of the ecosystem.

Finished watching Legally Blonde.

Even though this movie is old, I'll still put my review under a read more.

First impression; everyone at Harvard looks dead inside and can't handle a main protagonist. Also, the poor heroine, Elle, doesn't realize that she doesn’t deserve her ex-boyfriend. (He's F-tier.) No one is really aware of her main character power or how much she can achieve with motivation. (Except that one nail salon lady near Harvard.) Later, that other law student.

The problem here is that her shitty ex-boyfriend should've been sincere with her and told her that he ran into an ex and needed a break because he still had feelings for his ex. That would've saved everyone time and might have saved his own future too, because at the end, he got nothing.

As for the main trial Elle was involved in, she was the most ideal candidate because she understood the ways of blonde bimboes. Her insider knowledge was what ultimately turned that trial into her client's favor.

Overall, it was a cute, straightforward story, that had you rooting for the protag. Because even though she was rich and likely had ways of making people do her bidding, she was humble and righteous. Something ZS!Batman should've learned. My rating for this movie is 9.7/10. I'd watch it again if it comes back to Tubi.

There's some weird territorial PoGO players trying to control the Gym at my church. I thought they were the main asshole's alts but it seems like one of them is their spoofing friend with an alt. (This spoofer had put some regional pokémon at the gym. He seems to have a "girlfriend," but I think it's his alt because what kind of pathetic simp-ass woman would pick a username similar to his?)

What they don't realize is that I am a parishioner at this church, which happens to be a PoGO gym. I have non-game related reasons to go there when I do. But they're not parishioners because I've seen them attacking my pokémon at loitering hours -- before 6 AM and after 9 PM. They're the ones wasting resources trying to defend these gyms. (Berries, revives, and potions.) They're the ones who started bothering me, because I've been playing since 2016 and am like Level 43. They suddenly showed up and started their nonsense early last year. I don't do high-tier raids but I have many, many strong pokémon. I do my damage by attacking at least two of their CP-decayed gyms and making them lose money. (Many people fixate on the coins.)

Anyway, provoking them is amusing to me. Clearly, they want to control the area. They seem to control the neighboring Gyms and then are faced with my little island of an opposing team. They have no idea that I am a constant, unstoppable force who will regularly be at my spot and kick them out because I need to get the Battle Girl Platinum badge. They will eventually wear themselves out with their greed, while I'm just beating up everything in sight on my way to church. I'm just curious about how long it takes.

Clearly, the main one doesn’t know about CP decay, in that if you put your strongest, highest CP pokémon in the gym, its motivation will decline faster than a lower level pokémon. The game mechanics purposely weaken them to make them kickable. They then are forced to use berries to keep these pokémon alive who'd die easily after 3 hits, when not constantly revived. So when I usually return, their gyms are dying and I quickly knock them out.

I think, if they knew I had like "defending this gym for like 500 days," they'd probably rage. But like I said, they don't seem to understand the game or my motivation of just having extra items at the gym when I visit.
