That sounds like an awful office environment :( I'm impressed at your ability to keep a straight face, so annoying that you have to! I hope tomorrow is better!

Men are just such gross pigs I hate to say that to lump them all like that but really what a steaming pile of sh*t they are. Sorry you have to deal with that :(. That frat boy mental is waaayyy too pervasive
like honestly, I was really worried when I took this position because the branch is only 10% women (counting me) and the guys were already pretty cliquey and awful when I was just rotating in. Things have been worse since then than I could have imagined (:
today was better, mainly because the guy I share the office with was out all day so no one came in and talked to/around me.
and honestly, I’m normally of the “it’s not all of them, it’s just some of them that are bad” mindset but after incidents in college and now my experiences here, I’ve changed my mind on that. most, if not all, men seem happy to make jokes about sexual assault, rape, or harassment when surrounded by other men. it’s a sad, sad fact. I hope more and more men become aware of the issue and work to change not only their own thoughts and words, but those of their friends and family.
(as in, if my office guy had spoken up and apologized when the coworker was still in the room, I would have been more impressed than I am with him just apologizing)
