Taking a break from my usual art posts to introduce you to one of my buddies, Fleur. This little guy has been a huge inspiration to me and has been popping up in my paintings since my undergrad days. He's been sick with what we (my vet and myself) suspect is neurological, possibly e cuniculi. Despite his illness he's still an active, hungry, and happy guy. Caring for animals has been a huge part of my recovery from PTSD and has launched me forward in the ways of love, emotional health, and making things. The way I've connected with these creatures inspired my other books other worlds show last year and my slow journey into illustration. It has been devastating for me to grapple with the possibility of losing this guy.. However with animals this is an inevitable part of the journey and to give them the best life possible is all you can do. So fingers crossed for more healthy years ahead as he (speedily) recovers from these illnesses, and i imagine he will be showing up in more paintings soon as I wrestle with my own emotions. #lenaloshonkohl #rabbit #rabbitwranglers #inspiration I want to thank @rabbitwranglers for being there when I needed them this weekend and helping me get quick meds to my little guy.
