Interpretation: Disappointing news about the job.
What happened: I received a long-awaited letter (Cross - Letter) from the job I had resigned from (Cross - Fox) about my final pay (Fox - Letter, letter relating to work).
Cross - Tree (Fox + Letter) = waiting for too long
Fox - Bouquet (Cross + Letter) = job bonus (the final pay had a project completion bonus that I had forgotten about)
(Cross + Fox) Tree - Letter = late letter
Adding up to Birds. Communication. In this case, an email.
Just a note here, while it is true that Cross reflects Letter, Letter as the last card meant that the Cross ended well, or at least neutrally. So the tone of the reading really depends on the middle and the last cards. The last card especially says how the situation is resolved.
