Lenox was born before his father was sent to the isle. He spent 5 years in the caves of Transylvania before his father and thusly him were taking to the isle. To say that Lenox had a bad childhood is an understatement. Lenox was raised by vampire bats, his father Bela and himself are apart of a sub vampire species known as Vampire Bats. They are not as evolved as vampires and were thusly enslaved by vampires, required to work for them. Bela as a result not only hates vampires but hates humans more. Bela fell for a human but having Lenox killed her or so he was told. Bela’s greatest shame is Lenox and treated him as such.
Lenox was subjected to years of emotional and physical abuse and was raised to believe that humans are a weaker and disgusting species. They are food sources and Bela hated the fact his only offspring was half human. He was raised inside caves and his father when around was never pleasant. Lenox doesn’t actually know when his birthday is anymore, hes become so isolated from what his life was before Denisovich Loughran turned 5 and his father was cast from Transylvania.
Lenox has many scars littered across his body the ones that hurt the most were from when his wings came in, because Lenox is half vampire bat he subsists on blood and has similar vampiric abilities, he sprouts leathery bat wings if he chooses. Lenox also has fangs that are always present, his eyes shift from brown to red when his emotions spiral out of control. Lenox was never shown much love but also doesn’t ever want to see someone go through what he went through. Its why he is studying social work. Vampire Bats are less susceptible to illness and while are not immortal, do have longer lifespans than traditional humans.
► PERSONALITY
Lenox is cold, callous, and very rude. He doesn’t care how his actions affect others and is married to a bottle of whiskey. Lenox doesn’t talk about his father and doesn’t discuss his body or his childhood. While Lenox is what many would call an asshole, he also is fiercely protective and cunning. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to work for it. Lenox feeds on blood and has a special refrigerator in his room for blood so he doesn’t go hungry. Lenox is sarcastic and likes to crack jokes and has a fondness for children. He would never admit it though. He is surprisingly neat and sleeps upside down with the thermostat at 62 degrees, he likes cold and dark weather
Lenox often refers to humans as humies and generally has a sour attitude about them, he doesn’t care whether they live or die. Lenox does on a small and secretive note believe in the Transylvanian lore of soulmates. He believes that your soulmate comes and it is nearly instantaneous, one single thing binding you together. Lenox believes it will be a mutual hatred of parents or his own quick wit. Though he is not nearly as witty as he thinks he is.
