1.an album you can’t stop listening to lately

Machine Gun Kelly's "Bloom". Next to "tickets to my downfall" probably my favourite album of his. It has "Rehab", and "Habits", and "27", and "Bad Things", and "Golden God", and "The Gunner" which is trashy as fuck but I love it anyway. Currently almost always playing this album at work during clean-up. (But also Halsey's "Badlands". Idk I don't even listen to her much, but I just love "Badlands".)

5. name an album you feel is perfect

ASP's "Verfallen #1: Astoria". Love everything about it - the omnious start with "Himmel und Hölle (Kreuzweg)", the anticipation of the protagonist leaving Berlin, heading for Leipzig, and immediately seeing the Astoria, falling in love with her, then the slow descend into both the hotel and the unhealthy relationship, half aware of it ("doch insgesamt, spüre ich, geht es bergab"), the last resistance against her wishes, the breaking of that resistance and the murder of poor Loreley, and the closing track, that's both teasing the continuation and just reference after reference to ASP's other work... Apparently I have a lot more feelings about that than I thought xD

8. name an artist/band that isn’t touring at the moment who you’d really like to see in concert

In Extremo aren't touring right now I think, and I really want to see them live again! And also Vogelfrey, who are definitely not touring atm.

13. if you could talk to any musician, who would it be? what would you want to say?

Asp. No discussion. I want to thank him for his music (not sure I'd still be alive without him), especially for "Leviathan" and the logbook entry for it, and also I'd love to just get to chat with him, because his mind is amazing.

19. who is your favorite member of your favorite band?

It's Asp. He is ASP, and he's responsible for everything that makes ASP ASP, so of course it's him. (But Micha/Das letzte Einhorn from In Extremo is also someone I love very much.)

19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?

I started... Some time in third grade I think? My mum likes recounting the story how we had a class assignment to write down a fairy tale and I chose a version of Snow White and after I handed it in my teacher berated my mum for helping me with it - but my mum didn't even know that particular version. So, writing has always been a me thing, and I know I did write some original stories back then as well. For a few years I actually wrote (and "bound") short stories about four kitten detectives and gifted them to my brother for his birthday every year. In seventh ot eighth grade I started my first long story (blatant Harry Potter rip-off) and later we had a "literature club" where we discussed our stories. Some time in ninth grade I also started doing long text rpgs online with a couple friends, basically all the way until college, but I stopped when I was... Nineteen, probably? That was when I really fell into depression, so no surprise, actually. I picked writing back up when I was almost 22, after falling into the ddf fandom, and well, here I still am. By now I've also had a few college courses on literature, and honestly, I feel like I'm finally conciously understanding what I've been kinda doing intuitively for years.

25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?

Okay, bless you for this question, because it's giving me the opportunity to mention my absolute favourite detail in Mein rasend Herz that won't make it into the story.

Background: Victor invited Justus for dinner, cooked for him, they eat together, and Victor absolutely refuses to let Justus help clearing the table. And yeah, you could chalk it up to chivalry or something. Wanna know the actual reason? The kitchen is still a mess and he doesn't want Justus to see.

28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?

Skinny, probably. Although Sadie is shaping up to be a close second xD

39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?

@crazy-walls for sure, and Tiargo as well, and also the feeling that my head would probably explode if I didn't write. (And also comments from nice people! Did I mention comments on fic?)

5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now!

I'm being real boring and chose something I've actually been asked before: why do I write some fics in past tense and some in present tense? I think part of it has to do with the source material - movies/shows feel like they're happening right in front of me, that's why my Tatort Berlin fic (and both the wips) is in present tense, while the ddf books are written in past tense, so that's what I'm using - mostly. Because sometimes I think present tense gives a fic a greater sense of immediacy, draws the reader in closer, which is why I do have some ddf fic in present tense, mostly ones I want to feel very raw.

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

Well, when I got into the fandom, I really wasn't interested in writing (or reading) AUs, always said I wouldn't do it, but I have multiple multichaptered AU fics now, so.... xD

9. How do you find new fic to read?

Going to be honest, on ff.de I currently mostly read what authors I already follow post, don't have the patience to look through new uploads, filter out what doesn't interest me (since there's no build in excluding filter on ff.de, or any *functioning* filtering anyway) and then look into it in the hopes that the writing isn't abysmal. For ao3 I actually always have multiple tabs open on my phone that're for fic - the Three Investigators tag (with Peter/Bob excluded, because I don't care for that and it's massively clogging up the tag 🤷‍♂️), the Tatort tag (with *a lot* of pairings/characters excluded and set only to completed works because I don't really care deeply about that fandom, I just read what seems interesting), and uh. the "Robert Karow" tag (with no other filters, because there's a grand total of 64 works for him, more than one where he's only mentioned, and I am fucking starving for Karow content) - and I refresh those three tabs multiple times per day to see if anything new has been posted and then I either read it or I don't.

Ok ich bin interssiert - als jemand, der dir zustimmt, warum magst du gefragt gejagt nicht?

Mag diese ganze Inszenierung nicht von wegen die Jäger sind ~Quizgötter und eh so gut wie ~unschlagbar, finde auch keinen so besonders sympathisch, sodass ich nicht richtig für sie rooten kann, kann aber zu den Kandidat*innen auch nicht so schnell ne Beziehung aufbauen, weil es ja "normale Menschen", keine Promis sind (ist glaub ich auch eine unpopular opinion, aber ich seh mit Ausnahme von Wer wird Millionär lieber Promis in Quizshows, weil dann der Nervösitätsfaktor wegfällt), ich find allein schon die Studiogestaltung mit dem Thron albern und die Art und Weise, wie sie einlaufen und die Musik dazu (und ganz allgemein nervt mich die Art, wie es geschnitten ist, total)

Und im Gegenzug mach ich einfach WWDS, weils zwar um ein bisschen was geht (welches Team gewinnt, wie viel gewinnt die jeweilige Publikumsseite), aber jetzt auch nicht soo viel auf dem Spiel steht. Für mich einfach besser geeignet als wholesome Feierabendeinstiegsroutine
