Finished this diptych thing with James and Leonard. Both pieces are inspired by the paintings of Norman Rockwell and J.C. Leyendecker. Jim and Leo are both preparing for their final exams in Starfleet Academy.

I really love how these turned out, considering that I went back to my old style of digital artworks and was somehow in doubt whether or not this style will be relevant for myself. Well, it is!

Leo McCoy (26) Setter for the Nagoya Blue Devils! (original idea by @kewrai)

Birthday: 03 August

Height: 185.4 cm (6'1)

Weight: 75.75 kg (167 lbs)

Background: He was born in Galway, Ireland, and grew up playing Gaelic sports. When he was 17, his family moved to the US. He was accepted into the University of Oregon where he majored in Advertising with a minor in Japanese. His roommate was from Japan and played for the volleyball team.

He tried out as a walk-on for the volleyball team and they offered him a position almost immediately. His freshman year he sat and observed. His sophomore year, he ran a 6-2 rotation with a senior setter. And his junior and senior year, he was able to run a 5-1 rotation, helping lead his team the farthest in the tournament they had ever gone.

After graduation, he moved to Japan and continued to room with his college roommate.

Personalilty: Leo is a Leo. He's an ENFJ. He's bold, caring, and really loves to show off. He's a quick learner and extremely observant. He's always willing to help anyone out with anything. He's laughing all of the time and it's an infectious laugh. He's sassy...like EXTREMELY sassy. If you only know him in passing, then you'll think he's an asshole. But once you get through his sassy and overbearing exterior, you'll really see that he has a heart of gold and would do anything for those he cares about.

Fun Fact: he wears contacts for games and practices (he tried prescription goggles, but he didn't like the way they constricted his head).

Likes: anime, manga, pranking his siblings, showing his friends the cool new thing he's learned, energy drinks (Leo, no..you don't need them), singing along to Broadway songs

Dislikes: complete silence, long car rides, that his parents named him after his zodiac sign (it was unintentional, they promise), when people interrupt the best part of the song

You know what’s cursed?

What if instead of “Bones” his nickname was “Leo”

I mean TECHNICALLY it’s short for Leonard

but it makes me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and I really don’t know what

Or WORSE

“Jack” is sometimes short for “James”

Fuckin JACK & LEO?

(I can’t even bring myself to replace Bones with Leo for a line it’s so cursed)

Today is my BIRTHDAY

Last year was sometimes pretty harsh, but it was full of different king of work. I obviously painted a lot and transformed my style a bit to achieve not only a pleasant and interesting visual, but also to make myself happier and feel more relaxed and confident while drawing.
