The Black Balloon

Selected words: ribbon, infinite, electricity, aura, forgive I filled a balloon with breath after breath after breath. It stretched and expanded, black and filling all my field of vision. I filled it with years and years of words and memories. I breathed myself into the black balloon. I set it free into the sky. Or, I tried. But letting go of so much of yourself Is sometimes harder than you thought. And, so, Afraid of forgetting who I was What I had learned I tied a ribbon to the black balloon It was long, longer than I thought time could be. This ribbon stretched longer and longer, infinite, far across the years. I thought I would tie it somewhere for safekeeping But somehow the ribbon got tangled up around my ankles. The black balloon follows me. It haunts me. I live in constant fear of tripping and falling, Of errant winds wrapping the ribbon around my neck, Of storms of electricity striking the floating black balloon. Sometimes I feel as if the balloon is leaking, My words and breath filling the air around me An aura of hot, stifling, stale air surrounding me, Filling my lungs with nothing. I could cut the ribbon. I could set the black balloon free. But I do not know yet how to let myself forget Or forgive. By Leo R. Edited by Monika

Is this even a question? I would love to say Lyra but I think we all know he fucked that one up.

I think Leo needs a whole new girl to deal with. The ship has sailed on Lyra and not in the good way.
