CAD application for designing virtual models with LEGO® bricks

Hey, this is a really cool app for those who want to make digital stuff out of Lego, but also want to be able to export it to other programs unlike the Lego Digital Designer!

It has a few flaws (The library of Bionicle parts is woefully slim) but it’s really cool nontheless, and all the parts are free to use in your projects under a CC-BY license from the LeoCAD team! So, that’s fun!

LeoCAD for Windows Software Review

LeoCAD is software that allows a user to build with lego bricks in a virtual space. Reminds me a lot of AutoCAD and SketchUp and I think it is good if you want to do extra graphic presentation or are just having fun. Could be used to entertain or conduct excellent presentation. It looks like a lot of fun and is a good place to practice with 3D modeling in a space without taking up too much space on your computer. Its free and worth the download. COOL, two thumbs up.

Hello fellow VJ's I would like to share with you a video I just finished this morning. It is a mapping done on LEGO blocks.  I used LeoCAD to make the 3D model, then exported it into Blender to make the animations. These softwares are open source and free. They are invaluable tools to create content, especially Blender. Once the animation was rendered, I used ArKaos GrandVJ XT Videomapper to map the animation on the real LEGO thing.
