She flushed at the other Gerudo’s words, and almost immediately Riju found herself feeling ashamed over her concern. The wound the other hand seemed horrific to her, but judging from the response she got it... wasn’t. Or, at least, it just wasn’t a wound to be concerned over. Just a standard consequence of her line of work. And she wasn’t a child, she wasn’t unaware of how dangerous life outside of the town could be, but-!

“I- I know that!” There was a slight rise in the pitch of her tone before she stamped down on it, brow furrowing slightly as she leaned forward to peer closer at the wound.

“Do you medical attention?” She could get Buliara to help-- she would know how to take care of a wound like that.

“It isn’t normal to see a Gerudo this far out from the desert. I can’t remember the last time I saw one in the Zora’s domain.”

There was nothing really angry or accusatory about her tone, but her stance and the slight furrow of her brow made it clear that Ruto wasn’t entirely happy. The stranger hadn’t done anything, but strangers in Zora’s Domain - or even, as was the case this time, in the area immediately surrounding it - never seemed to bode well.

The gaze that was transfixed on the woman was undeniably predatory as Ganondorf slowly, ever so slowly, circled around her. She was strong; a simple glance at her told him that much. 

But the physical strength of any gerudo was never truly in question. They were a proud, strong people. Pride was the problem, though. Pride caused too many questions when given orders.

A hand shot out, grasping hold of her chin to force her head up. “... I cannot tell if allowing you to train would be more trouble than it’s worth. Do you even know how to take a simple order without running your mouth?”

He huffs a quiet agreement. Nods just once. He’s not looking at her at first. He glances instead to Vince as he walks away, Shane and the rest of their faction trailing behind. His face twists into a sneer for a moment before he shakes his head and chooses to focus on his own hands. Vince was an ass, sure, but he’d agreed to give the deadman his match. Enemy of my enemy, and all. So, in this case, there was no point in reminding Vince what his fist tasted like.

... It was tempting, though. Always tempting.

He finishes tightening his gloves around his wrists. Takes just a moment to ensure that he’s ready to go warm up. Rolling his shoulders to get rid of the stiffness. Glancing at his knuckles to check for bruises or blood, lacing his fingers together to roll his wrists. Listening to the quiet pop of his joints. Good enough. Then he sniffs and pushes himself to stand, adjusting his jeans before he walks.

“Welcome to the federation.”

He blinks. Looks down at the gashes on his arm, then back up to her. He supposes they are a bit bad. Not unusual, though. It happens. In his case, it happens often. He barely notices them anymore.

Ah, but if he gets them covered, it might save him a trip to the hospital. That would be good. He glances to his brother. Taker looks thoughtful for a moment, eyes flicking between the younger woman and his younger brother. With a slightly furrowed brow, he nods once. Kane tilts his head, then nods as well. Okay. He glances around for one of the various packing crates that scatter the back halls and takes a seat as his brother moves to stand by his side.

They’ll accept her help for now.

He looks down at her. He doesn’t speak, not at first, but the look on his face is a mix of frustration and curiosity. Or… Confusion? Something like that. Whatever it is, it’s not happy. Not furious, but not happy. 

“Why not?” Clipped, but not snarled. Not yet. Still waiting for the right response. The right way to react. He didn’t take well to being told what to do anymore. Had gone through that too many times. It never ended well. (There was an exception, of course. He knew he could trust his brother.) (Sometimes it wasn’t his brother.) (Didn’t want to think of that sometimes.) 

“That’s what this is all about. It’s how this works. If you step into that ring, and you’re not prepared to die, they’ll eat you alive.” He grabs his bag to sling it over his shoulder, ignoring the bruises and scrapes and things that might be worse. (Denies to himself the other reason he might not want to seek treatment.) 

“You might want to try it.”

“You’re worried about nothing.” He says, adjusting the fit of his gloves. He pauses, examining his hands. Flexed his fingers, rolled his wrists. Seemed fine. He nodded to himself, flexed his hands one more time, rose to his feet. 

“Those boys ain’t gonna try anything. Even they’re not that low.” He rolls his shoulders once, twice, banishing stiffness with each rotation. “And if you’re that worried?” He turns to face her.

“Remind them why it’s a bad idea.”
