”Your wife, Rachel,” Aurora whispered, closing her eyes. She pictured Bronev from before, falling to his knees on the steps of the sanctuary, finally realising the weight of his mistakes. “She wouldn’t want you to pursue the Azran legacy.”

Bronev: *Sighs* Again, Emmeline? I hope you’re not trying to impress another young filly…

Bronev: Obviously… We’ve been monitoring Descole after that stunt he pulled in Misthallery. Our agents are already on their—

Emmy: The professor and Luke were at the theatre—

Bronev: Professor Layton, who you were ordered to keep an eye on? 

Emmy: —They’re missing! That’s why I need a plane, please!

Bronev: You have it— and anything else you need to find Layton. If you see Descole, you know what to do.

Emmy: It’s vital that the plane is yellow, so it can’t be linked to Targent…

Bronev: Fine.

Emmy: Thank you! …Also I’ll be using the plane to rescue Inspector Grosky and woo a pretty diva— kay, byeeeee!

The text detailed another Azran myth about a mortal man who had yearned to fly:

He prayed to the Celestial King, who granted him wings… for a price. Before the sun set each day, the man had to return home to his family on earth— or else.

The man relished his gift of flight, but he grew too daring and greedy.

One day, he did not land before sundown. His wings burned up as he flew over Akbadain. He fell into the Nautilus Chamber, never to emerge again.

The Guardians of the Nautilus Chamber caught him and made him one of their own. 

Forevermore, the man’s family awaited his return.

After Aurora had read the story aloud, Bronev let out a low laugh. “So, that’s where he got the idea…”
