Episode 11 ~ The Good Life
It really was a beautiful day, the kind of day that makes Del Sol Valley the place to be. Normally, in other parts of the world at least, it'd be cold and freezing and would have more of a chill in the air that would nip and peck at you to lightly suggest that maybe you should have stayed indoors. Here? Well, here, it's still warm and the Sun keeps the frost away. Hey, I'm a southern hemisphere kind of person so I prefer the heat.
The weather gave me a good excuse to head to Ward Park and it was good to see Nora there. We used to always hang out here you know?
"You coming from an audition?" I ask since usually, this is where we would meet. The auditions are usually held around this part of town so it was a good place to stop and gather yourself after a successful or failed try out.
"Nope! Actually, waiting to meet my boyfriend!"
"Oh? He's coming...here?"
She nods her head and almost on cue he comes into the scene. He doesn't look bad but he's nothing to really write home about. I'll be honest, at first glance, I think Nora deserves a lot better.
His name is Leonard Glover and he joins us with a big cheese eating grin. "Wow, Nora, I always thought you were lying about knowing Soledad Guevara!"
"Heh," I chuckle, I guess I am famous now. There's even the click and flash of a camera as a paparazzo gets a few quiet shots in. I'm thankful that he doesn't ask any questions.
"You knoooow," Nora starts. "I'm quite the actress myself! I've been thinking of getting back into it...I can't let that man be the end of my career," by that man she means Mr. Frost. Good Riddance. I hope he rots in prison.
"You definitely should!" I encourage.
And so I talk to Nora about moving in with Diego and I'm sure the papparazzo is going to hear that and I'll actually be a subject in a gossip magazine or two! At least I hope! As for Leonard, well, he wasn't all that notable to me. He's a professor that teaches history or something and Nora is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too good for him if I'm being completely honest here.
