A photo of the British figurative painter Leon Kossoff, which I double exposed here with an oxidizing rust texture image that I took in the Arts District. Kossoff passed on July 4th age 92. A very recent discovery for me, he was an expressionistic figurative painter of modern life in London, part of the modern “London School”. He also had an enduring fascination with the old masters, particularly Poussin, after whose compositions he did a memorable series of etchings.
